Triple maduro? That sounds like a very heavy smoke.

Love the Camacho Triple Maduros. Just ordered a box of these. Dman good.

I do like the Deadwood lineup, I've run thru a few of these cigarillo tins for a quick after work smoke:

what did yah think animator they get a lot of hype on the web
Was as good as you’d expect from the liga privada line. I prefer the 9 over this h99, and I prefer the h99 over the undercrown 10. But overall, I’d have another.

Of the flavor profiles mentioned in the reviews, the French press coffee was the strongest to me.

After smoking consistently for a year or so my go to’s now are Rocky Patel, Oliva, Montecristo, and Alec Bradley. I basically stay within those brands and just pick the light or bold varieties to smoke.

I have discovered I can’t smoke anything with flavor anymore which is weird. I used to love the Drew Estate Deadwood series.

This is the natural progression. Next is noticing and looking for flavors in your non-infused smokes.

Two recent cigar stories:

1. One of my best friends gave me a cigar his rich (9/11 money :( ) neice gave him a while ago. He had it stashed in his nasty workbench drawer. He said it was a $100 cigar (yeah, right, I thought). Said "Don Zorro" (IIRC) on the band. Was in cellophane. Very large gauge for the length.

I smoked it and it might have been the best cigar I've ever had. Burnt perfectly evenly, would not go out, held the ash like Jill the Babysitter on being FLOTUS, never got bitter, smoooooth, what else can I say?

Asked my LCS about it. He had never heard of it and looked it up. Noncomitally said 'they exist, but he doesn't carry them'.

Ring a bell with anyone?

2. Few weeks ago I see a clear trash bag filled with Churchills each wrapped in newspaper on the counter of the same LCS. Shipment had just come in - they were something new. I asked him how much and he said 'tree fiddy' (NO LIE!!!). I said hundred? He said no, $3.50 each.

I bought one to smoke right there. It was terrific. I bought ten more to take to a wedding that waws coming up. Also bought a cigar box for .50 to put them in.

They were a hit at the wedding. Didn't tell anyone what they cost.

Next time I was at the LCS I bought a bunch more. He had increased the price to $3.95 a stick. He also had Churchills and some others, some Maduro, maybe four or five variants.

Each is wrapped in newspaper. Spanish newspaper. No name I can find. No boxes; sold loose.

LCS has them flying off the shelves. He's sold over 2,000 in a month.

Anyone got anything on what the heck they are?

Never heard of the expensive one. Way too high for my budget.

The other seems like a “house brand”. Sometimes a local that rolls them and such, kind of like a micro brew. We have a local (not real local for me anymore) that’s the bomb.

100 dollar cigars are a thing. My local shop just got in a box of RP Convictions. I have yet to try one.

They also roll their own, but sell them boxed or loose, but not wrapped, and they’re always fantastic.

I’ve seen some wrapped in newspaper before, but never paid them much attention. They didn’t look like that pic though, so probably not the same thing.

The ones I have look exactly like the ones Mniner found. Right down to the pigtail and the newspaper.
