Cheap bastard TinyHome design, need some direction

Looks like you added blocking that sort of looks like a gable end ladder, but it doesn't extend to the last rafter?

Is the last rafter just supported by the top and bottom fascia board?

How much snow will that thing see?

Edit: I found it, you said 3-5 feet of snow accumulation? You should probably better support those end pieces. Sometimes the snow "curls" at ends of buildings and gets pretty heavy. Also, everything sags with time.

If you look at how buildings are made, the framing pieces are always ALWAYS stacked in a way that does not rely on the fasteners (screws/nails) to hold any load (with a few exceptions such as joist hangers).

With almost all framing, if you could magically make all the fasteners disappear, the house would still stand. This is done because wood is so shitty, it gets mushy or dries and splits, etc. But if it's stacked and all the ends are captive, then that doesn't matter so much.
I gave an attempt at a ladder for the end rafter/gable ends went back 1 more rafter. On the south/door side, I did a 24" overhang and did some 45* bracing from the ends to the posts. The north/closed side is 18" and didn't get the 45* bracing.

This is my probably inadequate attempt at ladder and bracing for the eave ends.

Two walls about completed. Going to do the third with the siding, then see what we have left over and decide how we are going to close off the upper angle. Current theory is same siding, but go vertical with them. Then trim around it so it looks intentional. Other option is the do lots of metal mesh, which is the plan for the front above the door.

Nobody like the flashing on the ground  picked up some pressure treated 2x6 to back it up with and install first along the other edges.

Also settled on adding some 45* braces for the backside eave/fly rafter in the corners, similar to the front side.

Liked this picture from earlier in the day, figured I'd share :rasta:

Overall, not bad for getting a late start after going to get a new compressor and a little bit of running around this morning.

Reread this you aren’t living in just building a garage/outbuilding, ignore everything I said. I was under the impression you were building a shed to stay in while building/saving for a house on the property.

I'm building a thing, didn't know what to really call it.

Did know that "tiny house" is trigger warning required for Southern fried cj8, may he rest in piece, so put that in as well :rasta:

All good, I appreciate the input

Got the third siding all done, went ahead with the verticals to use up scraps for up top. Got the screen for the window installed and got the braces for the rear eave fly rafter thing done.

Tomorrow is laundry day, going to pick up a good bit more 1x4 to trim all sorts of things and going to pick up the stuff for the doors.

Front door is to be 8' tall and rough opening is 9'2" wide. Going to use my extra roofing sheets as fill. Probably just do some 2x4s, make a frame with a center brace and some "/" like a double stacked fence.

Laundry & 4th of July, haven't touched for the past couple days until today.

Most of the corner trim done, 1 of the doors done. Had a bad latch, need to exchange it when I pick up more paint tomorrow.

Finish the door, more trim, more paint and it'll be about wrapped up. JR rodeo tomorrow, probably spend half the day there :grinpimp:
