What's new

Carnage share thread

It's why I'm hesitant to build a rig with V8 power. I know me and my inability to say uncle. Don't think I've backed down from an obstacle unless I'd let all the horses (well, squirrels) outta the corral.
Agree!! I am keeping my Stock 5.7 Vortec YJ stock. Kind of a Happy medium between LS and anemic 4-6 banger

This was kinda a new broken inner to me. Spun itself into a cup and spindle deal.

Opened a time capsule. This is a throwback to 2017. This a front Dana 60 ARB from my 4500 car with Rockjock 60s front and rear. This a brand new ARB and 5.38’s with maybe 17 miles on it. The cross section that I managed to break clean in half is 7/8” thick.

Proof that you phrased this threads first post correctly. That’s normal carnage to you. :lmao:

Dang, that is an impressive break and would be a fun one to dissect.
You want it? I’ll put it in a box and mail it to you.

This was not a torsional break. I did that without damaging either 1 1/2” 35 spline 4340 chromo shafts. This happened during a crash. I over jumped a jump and did a full lawn dart 30 feet past the catch ramp. When the view in the windshield went from all sky to all dirt I put the skinny pedal to the floor. We hit the ground on the rev limiter and I thought the tires didn’t even touch the ground. We did a full front flip and landed on the wheels. We kept going and still managed to get on the podium but it was obvious the front axle wasn’t pulling anymore. The housing isn’t bent but I think it flexed and returned to static.

Only if it's not too much trouble.

Crazy! Did anyone get video of that?

Sadly no video. Barely any pictures, photog had her back to me taking pictures of who was in front of me. She heard the impact and turned around in time to get a 3 picture shot of the Sammy standing on its tail gate and as we rotated forward to touch down on the wheels. The end of catch ramp I over shot is the at far left of the pic. Terrible pic because she wasn’t watching me.

v8 auto single tcase and a properly built rig drives itself. I went from a 190:1 toyota on 38.5s to a 4200lb buggy on 44's and a v8. Was the best decision ever. 100% changes the way you wheel for the better.

Edit: You gotta do a stall convertor too. Has a 9.5 dia 2400 art carr, fluid got hot but damn did it launch up backdoor easy.

Was gonna ask how it sounded when it went...

But then you posted about crashing. Been there: LOUD is how it sounds.

I dont think I will ever figure out the logic behind the front 60's that came with 35 spline inners and 30 outers?
