Bump stock ban .. banned

When are you stupid fucks going to figure out that the bump stock ban was the bone Trump threw at the dems to shut them up for a while knowing the decision would be overturned. He could have went straight to AR's, AK's or any other evil black gun just the same as he did bumpstocks but instead chose the all but useless and retardedly stupid bumps stock you ****s keep crying about. Stop acting like you all had piles of bump stocks that you just couldn't live without after they were banned. They are a stupid ass novelty item and nothing more, and if not a single one was ever produced again not a single one of you would be missing out..... :shaking:

Want to cry about something legitimate, start with the fucking machine gun ban and go from there.
Again and i cannot stress this enough fuck off boomer. That apologist NRA lets give them an inch mindset is why they take miles. Not one inch back. Either let them ban them and find out if all you that will be when i get off the porch types mean it or let them fail in court or public opinion if you're too much a coward. Not one inch back:flipoff:

I don't see all you gun nuts standing in front of the capitol demanding your freedoms back either so you should probably STFU. You ****s sit around and bitch that XXX organization that you donate a few bucks to isn't getting you what you want and that's it.

And not a single person is getting off the porch. This country is full of heavily armed pussies that run their mouths and nothing more.....

Want to enact change in gun laws? I'd say gathering up a few million armed US citizens and having them camp out on the capitol lawn in a peaceful protest would be one hell of a good start. Why don't these precious lobby groups that you all donate money to organize something like this to get things going??????

There is a simple solution to most of these issues but the solutions require balls and leaving your comfort zone. Ain't nobody gots time fo dat apparently....

If Jan 6 taught us anything, it’s they will jail you for protesting their tyranny. I don’t plan to do any protesting.

Trump and the NRA counted on the Supreme Court to keep bump stocks legal

WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump didn't really want to ban bump stocks. When he did, he knew the Supreme Court was likely to overturn his action.

In a 6-3 decision Friday, that's exactly what the justices did.

The ruling revealed Trump's true feelings on the issue after a seven-year political drama, as he accepted the court reversing him, with his spokesperson saying that Americans should respect the decision.

It is possible that the Supreme Court — at a lower level but in similar fashion to its decision to overturn abortion rights — will unleash a backlash that helps President Joe Biden and hurts Trump in their November rematch.

But for the time being, Trump's strategy for sidestepping a lasting response to the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting appears to have played to plan.

In the immediate aftermath of that massacre, which claimed 58 lives and resulted in hundreds of injuries, Trump found himself faced with a thorny political dilemma.

Shocked and outraged by the murders, roughly 4 in 5 Americans said that the government should cut off access to bump stocks, the style of shoulder-pad device that allowed the killer, Stephen Paddock, to fire a semiautomatic rifle at the speed of a fully automatic weapon. Democrats, then in the minority in both chambers, demanded congressional action, and some Republican lawmakers agreed with them.

Trump was faced with an unpalatable choice: do nothing and alienate mainstream voters or push Congress to legislate a ban, which would infuriate some gun-rights voters in the GOP's base and highlight divisions within his own party.

Republican lawmakers said he would be able to muscle a law through Congress if he chose that route. "Nobody gives me more cover in my district than Donald Trump,” then-Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Fla., said at the time. "They believe in Donald Trump and they believe that if he thinks [bump stocks] should be illegal, they should be illegal."

Trump found a third option that lowered the temperature on the gun-control debate in the short term — robbing momentum from congressional efforts to ban bump stocks — and kicked the issue to a conservative-leaning Supreme Court.

Taking a cue from the National Rifle Association, Trump used his executive authority to write a Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives regulation banning bump stocks.

"I went with them," Trump said of the NRA in a 2023 interview on CNN.

Like him, the gun lobby's biggest player wanted to avoid both a new firearm-control law and the perception of inaction in the face of the Las Vegas massacre. It would be harder to repeal a law than roll back a regulation, and the legislative process is messy enough that a new law might have ended up including other restrictions on firearms.

Top executives at the NRA said the ATF should look at whether bump stocks conformed to federal law.

"The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations," Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox, then of the NRA, said in a statement at the time, stopping short of explicitly concluding that bump stocks in fact do just that.

It was exactly that language that Justice Clarence Thomas homed in on in writing Friday's majority opinion.

"This case asks whether a bump stock — an accessory for a semiautomatic rifle that allows the shooter to rapidly reengage the trigger (and therefore achieve a high rate of fire) — converts the rifle into a 'machine gun,'" Thomas wrote. "We hold that it does not."

Trump has shown no compunction about attacking courts and their officers when he believes he didn't get his way. He didn't do that at all on Friday. Rather than commenting directly when the opinion was made public, Trump let his campaign do the talking. A statement released by campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt preached deference to the justices.

"The court has spoken and their decision should be respected," she said, calling Trump a "fierce defender" of gun rights. And, she noted, he carries the endorsement of the NRA.

Trump followed the gun lobby's lead in relying on the court to ensure that shooters have access to bump stocks. It took seven years for that plan to come together. But it did.

they will jail you for protesting their tyranny.
More than jail will await you. They will kill you. PedoJoe is serious about the F-15s. July 28, 1932 WW1 vets Bonus Army for reference. Ike, Patton and McArthur led the charge against them.

Thank you for emphasizing my point that you are exactly what I said. A cuck who is happy to give them your rights an inch at a time because it is better than losing x....

Ohh and for the record speak for yourself cuck. I know you won't be able to see me among the 22000 people in the pictures but i am among all the people in this.

Don't worry when i am done with that I'll restore your moms cock rights.... One inch at a time:flipoff2:

So what gun rights did you get us back at the rally? You looking for a cookie or something?

Had to resort to the mom jokes because you have nothing else intelligent to say..... Gotcha

I haven’t read every post, but what happens to the bump stocks they took or were turned in? Do they still have them or were they destroyed. Are they going to have to replace them? Seems like a good deal for the bump stock manufacturers.

I still think they are stupid, but I’m glad for not eroding our rights further.

Next question, what about the “Super Safety”? Would that not go back to legel status?

You totally missed the point. We kept our assault weapon ban away and have successfully since without giving them anything by doing exactly what you said we won't do. You would have just said can we give you ten round mags or something to make you go away for now. Like i said. Spineless or blinded by trump worship not sure which.

And the mom joke was for pt rangers benefit since he broke them out first. Glad it got to you though. Tell her to call me.

Trump supporters "They banned bump stocks!!!! It's tyranny!!!! Burn these commies at the stake! From muh cold dead fingers!!"

It was Trump that banned them.

Trump supporters "Well, that was the smart thing to do to make the libs happy!!! He learned a lesson!!"

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I think it’s funny when “Never Trumper’s” point out a Trump mistake. They always act like MAGA is a cult and this mistake proves it. Let’s clear something up, Trump is not perfect. He’s only the best President we’ve had in my lifetime. (Maybe ever) I can list 3 mistakes he has made.

1. Bump stocks, a very minor mistake as presidents go.

2. Handling of COVID. He did better than most other countries, but still not right.

3. The budget. This is one item that probably can’t be solved in one term. I think the way to tackle it is to create a booming economy and then start cutting spending to get balanced. I would expect this to take 8 years if you don’t want a collapse. Only after the budget is balanced for a couple years, can you even think about paying down the debt. If Trump had not been cheated out of his second term, we might have been on the road to recovery. Even If he wins now, the process starts over. So we would have to hope the next President (s) will continue the fight.

There’s my list. If you want a list of mistakes other presidents made, it will be a “wall of text”.

Well your kinda ignoring and conflating the range of people that are Trump supporters in order to write off enthusiasm for Trump as some kind of irrational “Trump worship”

The average dumb fuck that does not pay attention to politics at all that wouldn't even be aware a bump stock ban happened in the first place, to the informed voter that pays attention pointing out how the game of politics is played.

Those judges were selected to overturn Roe, and nothing else.
Those judges were selected to follow our Constitution, and that's fucking awesome for the future of my country :usa:.

Pardon the fuck out of me if I'm skeptical of D.U.-level TDS ankle (or pillow )-biting rhetoric stating Trump did one of the best things to happen in my lifetime "only" for the "wrong" reasons. Results far outweigh purported "intentions", and I'm honestly doubtful of the folks who "know" the "one selfish reason" Trump worked to put responsible, sane adults in the SCOTUS, plus all the lower-level judges not chugging the "living document" activist cawk.

If any of the rabid never-Trumpers have any evidence to lend credibility to your spiteful, narrow-minded conspiracy theory, feel free to share it.

If it's "trust me bro" or "I just know it", I'm prob'ly gonna' remain stuck at "well, bless your heart"

I mean he is right ya know. It seems to have you all butthurt for some reason but that doesn't make it less true. And not just for patents. Thus Einsteins theory of relativity and so on. You create it you name it.
It's a dumb argument, do I need to call a tissue a Kleenex, a copy a Xerox or a cotton swab a Q-Tip ?

I honestly think you idiots just want blather on and on, news flash " I don't fucking care"

Untill the guy shot up las Vegas I had never heard of a bump stock, I'm still not sure how it's supposed to work.
Back when somebody came up with the idea of a cam that you fitted into the trigger housing and spun with a crank of course that led to someone taking a pair of 10/22s mounting them upside down, and side by side off setting the cams by 90* and adding an electric motor! :smokin:

I hate that you’re right but you are.

This is exactly what the left has been doing for almost a decade now.

The electric motor turns that into a machine gun. If it's hand cranked it's not.
Bump stocks are a novelty, always were. Not anything any serious shooter would have on their go to rifles.
The problem was it let the atf create a law. Agencies don't have that authority.
Congress didn't ban bumpstocks the atf did at the direction of the president, who also doesn't have the authority to pass laws.
The court made the right and obvious decision, but it took 7 years to go through the process.
Will be interesting if this carries through to things like frt and super safety devices. They want to go after binary triggers and any "device" that enables faster operating of the firearm.

With the massive amount of glock switch's it will be interesting to see if the nfa changes.

Kinda, the difference is they manufacture the protest, then pass the law they wrote years earlier that’s called one thing but does something else. Once the law is passed the protesters are placated and go home till called upon again.

The DFW area ATF made an announcement last week saying that they are going hardcore after people and 3D printers that may be making the "switches"

I expect to hear about a bunch of no knocks gone wrong in the next few weeks around here. :shaking:
