“Brophy Jeep” Street Legal Ultra4 4500 class CJ6

Picked up some Trailready Beadlocks and put the 37” blue label Krawlers on them this will become my race set of tires. This is the same color of my drift car wheel! /attachments/img_6409-jpeg.870373/?hash=5b00500d8bd470b5194c8127d07272e9

Now I know this is super close but these are 39”X13.50”X 17” BFG Krawlers on 17”X8” Hutchinson double headlocks with 4.75” BS. These are for mock up. The actual tires I’ll be running are 37”X12.50” Krawlers on 3.5” Trailready wheels. It should have nearly 2 more inches of clearance on the other set up.

Building with slightly bigger tires than you are going to run is an awesome trick for making everything fit the way you want it.:smokin: I did that with an LJ and a Samurai I built for customers and tire clearance no matter how you flexed those rigs out was a non-issue.

The motor is a small cam L76 (aluminum 6.0 block with LS3 heads) it made 405Whp in my white Nissan on 91 super conservative. The intake in the picture is the L92 from GMC Yukon Denali it fits perfectly but I might have to go to a lower profile LS3 to run the air cleaner over the top of the intake. We had to flip the intake around to clear the radiator. But more on that later.

Hell yeah. I’ll either sell the Hutchinson after it’s all built to pay for race spares or keep them put some really good snow wheeling ties like iroks and add a wheel spacer just for the snow. For racing I have to run DOT 37’s but I figured for trail only I’d have a set of 39” sticky either BFG or NITTO Kspecs depending on what I can get for a good price. I am a BFG fan boy but I will say I really liked the NITTO KSpec 40” stickies too and they are a little more street friendly.

Few pictures of the interior and new engine. I did all
All
The work with some help from and use of a few buddies shops.

I searched for a good used one that was not going to need rebuilt and one that needed rebuilt before I decided to go new. I also looked at the gigglepin and red winch ones but I couldn’t justify the added cost. My buddy own a shop and got me this brand new Warn 8274 at cost!! I wanted it because it was going to fit lower in the frame and I wanted the oldschool retro Jeep aesthetic!! I’m tossing around the idea of doing a Golden eagle decal livery on it.

We don't care about the drift car.
We want Baja pics and videos !

Just kidding, anything that has a V8 and hits the rev limiter is GTG by me. :smokin:

Buggy looks great too :cool2:

He'd get faster in the truck if he was trying to go around the road courses as fast as he could. Better skill set.:flipoff2:

Hahahah maybe for the few pavement section but aside from the start they are all 55mph on pavement. The truck is actually a rear engine transaxle ex class 10 car with V6 and truck body. These cars have to run loose to be fast. There is minimal grip on dirt roads and sandy washes. So learning how to drive loose is more benificial especially cutting brakes and left foot breaking as well as weight transfer to get the front to plant and car to rotate into the turn and not push and plow through the corners. lol. I used to do a lot of grip canyon driving in this car when it was stock ish. I miss canyon driving.
Blue truck body was just a few years ago when info drove the start. The mangled mess was when we raced class 10 in 2014 I drove a section and codrove the following section of that race. We punted a trophy truck chasing him in the dust 17 miles from the finish. Broke the car but were able to cobble it together and finish 11th in class.
