What's new

Bought a house from 1810 (and some other stuff)

Yeap. I'm not sure how best to move them in your area without the internets. Here, I'd give them to my buddy that has a pro shop to deal with.

I'll have to figure out exactly what models they are. Looks like even as "parts" on ebay they'll fetch a couple hundred bucks apiece. I'll have to see if there are any FB groups nearby.

I have about a half dozen tree stands that I need to get rid of too. Might as well just suck it up and deal with the FB idiots.

The recurve hanging on the possibly has a higher value. Get a pic of the medallion on the side. Also, it should have some writing on the inside of the limbs.

shouldn't those be stored un stringed?

I'm not seeing a recurve there. But yeah, unstringing a recurve is common practice because it's easy. I don't know that it's any worse on a recurve than a compound bow that stays strung up.

look at the pic you quoted in the background, looks like Bear medallion on it.

i do not see any recurved, all seem to be home camoed.
will fetch some bucks.
i an interested in recurves, if you come across any of those i would give fair price if in original condition.
anything painted values are runied but would still consider as a shooter.

Alright, just got back from hauling my welders and a jetski that I haven't used in 7 years up there :shaking:

Took a better look at the bows. Sadly, the recurves are nothing special. The big one is a Ben Pearson Cougar 7050 (painted, poorly) and the other is a Darton Super Flite Jr. Scout. Checked ebay real quick and they look like maybe $50-100 apiece.

There's an Oneida Aero-Force Eagle that's unmolested ant not painted. Probably the best one out of the lot.

The other is a a Strike Eagle with a little paint on it.

If it isn't obvious, I don't know shit about bows, but I found this sight interesting - it pivots with the vertical angle of the bow. Anyone know what it's called?

I dread throwing stuff like this on FB for people I know it will bring out...ugh. "Would ya trade for two half used cigarettes and a goat?"

Years ago I listed something on Facebook and someone we know jokingly offered to trade for two fainting goats they had. That turned into a running joke of friends of ours adding ridiculous offers on every ad. After 3-4 years that finally ran its course.

My dad was always a junk dealer and would do the buy at a yard sale and flip at flea-markets thing. He apparently had an old antique crock and some guy asked how much. "20 bucks" "Would you take a goat?" And that's how he ended up with "Toro". Somewhere there's still a picture of Toro mountain climbing on top of my mom's Mazda.

Throw them up of Facebook for $500 for the lot and see what happens. You might get more piecing them out if you want to dick with it. Both pro shops around here have several old bows for sale on consignment (I’m guessing) that have been there at least 5-6 years. Doubt they will ever sell.

I also kind of figured out what the deal was with that giant dresser thing. Turns out my previous speculation that it was original 4 separate pieces was mostly correct. I noticed that there were signs of being cut on the sides of the 3 stacked pieces. They were originally all identical to the "base" piece with the legs but at some point someone cut off the legs of the other 3 to make them stackable.

I still don't totally know what they were intended to be used for individually. They're 6' wide and 2' tall. Really weird dimensions even for a dresser/table thing. Maybe they were made to go at the foot of king size bed or something?

Now for some more weird/funny discoveries. See the easel and canvas on the left in in that picture? ^^ The PO said they were painted by his son and took no responsibility for them. I briefly glanced at them when I was in the process of buying, but what they were really didn't come to light until my friends were over last weekend and we really studied them.

OK, a little different. Maybe a little Asian or anime inspired. Big titties. Not horrible.

OK. That's a zebra. No, a zebra's ass. But....it has human legs...and a human torso. Oh fuck. I'm uncomfortable.

Dare I look at number 3?

Uhhh.... titties?

Turns out PO's son may have been a neckbeard, furry, anime fan? I don't know what to do with these!

Put them on EBAY! :lmao:

Put them on your living room wall to assert dominance.

Trying to keep this updated, but all the moving kicked my ass and i've been pretty much worn out.

Moved the CNC mill, manual mill and big lathe to the shop over the weekend. The clapped out forklift paid for itself here.

That's not a big lathe. :flipoff2:

Bronie maybe.

I would figure out what you don’t want to keep, and hire a local auctioneer known for quality merchandise.do an online auction.
you only have to deal with people a few hours on pick up day.

people sit in the comfort of their home, and over pay on everything.
