Have you thought about using Gates Powergrip clamps and silicone hoses on the HVAC heater hoses? I buy them from Pegasus Pegasus - Keyword Search
PVC heat shrink with adhesive over the hose once its fit up will help it hold pressure and can also help it become a formed assembly that is semi flexible.
