Abandoned gooseneck

I don't know about every state but many people and businesses in MD tag things in other states, mostly Maine, to avoid inspections and higher registration. It's also very normal to see work crews with trailers and vehicles tagged wherever corporate offices are. The TX plates don't seem like any indication of anything other than where it's registered.

Even if someone else stole it first restealing it isn't the answer. I hate to see stuff wasted so I get what you're feeling but this one is pretty easy to figure out. Not yours don't take it. Find the owner if you're bored.

I bought an 18ft trailer years ago, got a pink and all but the plate didnt match I found later. I dug arouns, called Carson and gave them the stampings, they gave me a vin, and I ran it through the sheriff - it was stolen. I had them pick it up, and I was SOL on the money.

Moral of the story, no I dont want to steal it from anyone.

Its a Texas plate, I am in California. Suppose it is stolen - its not going to make it back to TX. The day it gets towed, storage fees, tow fees, and transport back to TX will be far greater than the trailers worth. Tow yard will do a lien sale and that will be how it goes. Or do you think the PO will pay 10k to get the trailer back to them?

Not justifying taking it, just thinking realistically here, its not going to go back to TX regardless od what the deal with it is. Ive had stuff stolen and you are on the hook for the fees.
Ok then, go take the fucking trailer. Why do you need to ask anyone on here if it’s ok for you to be a thief? You already knew the answer to that before you made a thread on it. What the fuck do you want anyway?

A free trailer & validation in the method in acquiring it.

Seems pretty straightforward to me.

OP.
Things vary so much by state, but here… There would need to be a record of attempts to contact the last registered owner, wherever that may leads to. It used to be registered mail, may have changed with technology though.

I mean when I see something just sitting for extended periods of time, and it’s something I could use, I’ll roll up and ask the property owner if they want to sell. Been told no, given ridiculous prices (a nicer way of saying fuck off) and gotten a few good deals.
Never have I thought that “Hey, that’s been sitting quite a while, I should just take it home.”
Yep, I had a 88 samurai given to me that I could see in a back property on the side of a house I drove past on to and from our farm. I was finally able to swing in his goofy ass driveway around ten years after I first saw it. I inquired about it and after around 30 min of the owner telling me about its history, he asked if I really wanted it. I said yes absolutely and I was prepared to pay money for it. He said if I wanted it, I could have it for free. So sometimes you never know about things unless you inquire about them. No fucking way would I ever just take something because I think it’s abandoned even if it was. Nope, nope and triple nope.

I did this once, But not really.
I found a trailer in a field 4 rotted tires on a 24' Big Tex with a solidly build second deck. I would work great for my shit but it needed work.

I found out who owned it worked out a fair price considering the shape and what repairs it needed and bought it. I got a great trailer, and the guy that had it stolen made a few bucks.

OP should do the same. that trailer is someone's, find out who's and work a deal.

No I didn't read all 4 pages.:flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:

Remember the dipshit that went on private property and stole the Wild Cherry van that was sitting there? Owner tried to get it back but dipshit prevailed. Insane Saga Of The 'Wild Cherry' Movie Van From 1979's 'Van Nuys Blvd'

questionable. 20 years under a tree, rusted, chances are nobody will be restoring it, he did that car a favor. Owners sound like assholes from what i read but we can disagree.

Oh it gets better. Sorry Steve300xcw sorry for screenshotting without prior written consent :lmao:

Ptobably the same way Id know of any random trailer that just sits in a parking lot within 20 miles of my house.... similar to how you noticed it

gotta belong to a hot shotter. i own a bunch of trailers and one almost identical to that, NEVER have had to have a "safety inspection" done. WTF.
To get yearly registration in Texas on a trailer over 5k gvw (or something close to that) you do. I don’t know about farm plates.

This is why you are a fucking idiot. None of your points matter because the van wasn’t his to take or restore. The van’s proper owners can decide whatever they want. And if that is rusting away on their property the so be it.

You have always seemed like a turd and this thread and your comments on the van solidify that. Stay in SoCal you fit right in with your “logic”.

I dont think he is very local to here, more like 80 miles away or something, so I am curious. Thought he is upin redlands or riverside or something.

So fuckguy, have you stolen the trailer or fucked a blender yet? Those were the 2 options I gave you.

He used to wear a black and yellow sweatshirt all the time, so his mates were like "oh look Gordon is out to sting me":flipoff2:

Yup. I have to get my race car trailers inspected once a year. I'm glad they are done with inspections at the end of December so I don't have to deal with dragging the trailer to an inspection station in the future.
