Abandoned gooseneck

who have you have you called so far?

dumb question. do you think the DMV will just give you owner info off a plate? If it was a CA plate I could potetially call a favor, but its not

We used to leave trucks, trailers and equipment stashed all over the mountains and in random yards. Sometimes for 6-8 months+. Didnt forget about em, just no reason to bring them home......

not in Cali because itd be gone in a heartbeat. Nobody wilingly stores stuff here with no locks in an easily accessible drive away place. Even our locks have locks :flipoff2:

Haul it home, throw a couple of fresh weld beads on it, call popo and tell them dude dropped it off so you could work on it but never showed up to get it.
Put a lien on it for work done and file for abandoned trailer.
Oh, and hgtd

I say get it, fix it up, that way when someone runs the vin and it get's returned to the rightful owner it's nice for them.

I got a stolen trailer back ONE time, and when i did, it was nicer than it was when it was stolen. Some landscaping crew made some improvements.
(only stolen thing I ever had recovered... and it wasn't even technically mine. It was the companies).

Seems like in Cali its possible to leave gooseneck trailers sitting in large plazas with no locks since at least February without them being gone in a heartbeat.

Way back in the simple times before responsibility, I worked pumping gas with a guy whose $500 VW bug had been stolen, and 6 months later the cops gave it back to him w/ a show-car paint job, interior, and engine. Whoever stole it literally put 10X the car's value into his $500 beater

well, I would probably put tandem axles on it :flipoff2:

well, do you need a boat?
Gawd no.

We pressed felony charges against someone that stole 10k+ of logs.

Their defense? "Well, they were just sitting there"
:homer:
Did it take over 2 years to get them back and did they come back with a 2x4 roll cage?

Some relatives had an explorer stolen near the border and got a call about a year later saying its been recovered and come get it. Brand new paint, new mid travel suspension.

You need to find the owner first.
I had this while living in Kodiak, AK. Abandoned Foreman's truck F250. Asked around and called the construction company that left it, too expensive to ship it from the island. I sent them $30 (1984) for the title.

A lot of that shit happens remote. I know of a couple "abandoned" peices of million dollar equipment that have been sitting for several years. Next time there's a block within walking distance they'll get fired up again.

this super trashy one?
