What's new

Abandoned gooseneck

I mean when I see something just sitting for extended periods of time, and it’s something I could use, I’ll roll up and ask the property owner if they want to sell. Been told no, given ridiculous prices (a nicer way of saying fuck off) and gotten a few good deals.
Never have I thought that “Hey, that’s been sitting quite a while, I should just take it home.”

Ive had a bunch of shit stolen :mad3:

So youve been through this before and want to do it again...but not buy it so less legalish cool

you are justifying it. If its stolen and the owner is found it will go back to them, or they can sell it to you directly.

hahahaha $10k to get back. the mental Olympics you are doing to steal this is impressive.

its 1500 miles from home state. Tow will cost probably 1k because its heavy duty. Storage will be at 250/day for its size. Transport it 1500 miles. I deal with trucks and trailers, prices are astronomical

I listened tho, bad decision, fuck it.

2021 Load Trail with plates and this moron thinks it's abandoned. Stolen maybe. Abandoned by the owner? Not a fucking chance. Idiot. You priced one of those lately?

its single wheel axle, I have a tandem and I paid 12 or 13k for it. I was thinking belongs to a company or bank, rather than owner

Honestly, no.

Not fucking with you; some folks have complete respect for "not my property".

Fair enough. It was a 80% NO, 20% well a tow yard will just grab it and sell it so... which is why I came on here to see if my voice is lying to me, and it was

wel hey folks you have the vin and the plate, maybe someone in TX can see if its reported, Ill gladly share the location

things that dont add up:
nice neighborhood-yet trailer surrounded by trash and homeless
IDK what you mean by "homeless rv's"?
This is California, there are homeless RVs everywhere. Drug addicts and losers live in old rvs all over, including in neighborhoods with 2-3 million dollar homes. Sometimes in front of multi million dollar homes. So a neighborhood could otherwise be a nice neighborhood, except for the enclaves of meth and fentanyl anarchy.

California tests your morals. It tests them while you wait in line to buy something at CVS, watching someone walk out the door with an arm full of products. It tests them as you drive past the stolen ditched super duty with axles still under it, or the stolen ditched newer camero with the LS still in it. Covered in graffiti, no wheels, broken glass, paid for by insurance already.

Again you are trying to justify being a thief

You are a fucking retard.

And if you feel like you made a DECISION to not steel property, that shows your character.

Grew up in the east bay. youre kinda partially right. but not really :flipoff2:

FYI, the VIN does come back to a 2021 load trail so the VIN seems legit. NICB shows the VIN is clean.

If you find a 100 on the ground, would you not pick it up? You would, because there is no way it would actually make it back to its owner. I was using the same logic here. I am sure it wont make it back to its owner in TX.

Read my previous post, I did buy a trailer that was stolen, it was local, and I did turn it in to the sheriff, being SOL on my money.

It might belong to a carrier then, that leases to owner operators. Id love to get in touch with them and buy it for half of what it will cost to get it back to them

I’m sorta with Forddude, in the city it’s not unusual to see abandoned cars/trucks. Not talking about the flat tired, full of cobwebs in front of someone’s house, but legit abandoned. Am I cleaning up the street by taking it? Or stealing?

That looks new, likely owner forgot where it was parked and some tow yard will make money off lien sale. Forddude is asking why he can’t “steal” it the same way tow yard will.

Why do you think that because it has Texas plates that its going to cost EMERGERD money for the owner? A hotshot would pick that up on a return trip for 10% of what you're willing to offer

K

and no.

Moral of the story, no I dont want to steal it from anyone.
You could have worded the OP a little better.

Is there any vacancies in the plaza? If so, contact them to see who owns the plaza. From there you might be able to get some contact info on the trailer.

Our business owner has a boat trailer parked in the back of the smallish parking lot. Using your logic I can just grab it since its got moss and shit growing on it for being parked for 10 years + :lmao:

So youve been through this before and want to do it again
This is the funniest part.

Not justifying taking it, just thinking realistically here, its not going to go back to TX regardless od what the deal with it is. Ive had stuff stolen and you are on the hook for the fees.

If you've made up your mind you can always leave a note explaining how you were just looking out for them and your contact info. That should cover all the bases

Does the $100 bill have a very easy to use system to prove who the owner is?

being that it might be a carrier, youd think they may have a way to easily get it back:idea:

Bad analogy, dood. That hypothetical hundred is untraceable & open game, obviously.

If you find $100 in an envelope that says,

Our Lady of Consensual Fornication Chapel
6969 Spawny's a Fooktard Lane
Rancho de Gringo, CA 69247

. . . then you have a good idea who's missing that hundred & the most honorable thing to do would be to get it to them or let 'em know where to pick it up.

but -I- dont have a way to get their info. I posted the plate and vin. Help me out then, Mr Useless :flipoff2:

Calling the Texas DMV would be a starting point Ms Useless.

edit: Hell call Load Trail too, guaranteed they have a sales record, or at the least will have a sales record that will lead you to the dealer who will have a sales record to the end user. It's a 2021 it may be a one owner. This isn't that hard and we're not going to do the work for you.

Nobody! will give me owner info. Whatcha smoking? Im not leo nor have a court order

I have trailers sitting on my property that I haven't moved in at least two years. They are still mine and not yours. Why would you think they are abandoned? Do you not have projects that sit for a period of time? Would you care if someone came and took one?
We pressed felony charges against someone that stole 10k+ of logs.

Their defense? "Well, they were just sitting there"
:homer:
