Well the pics aren't in order, so the first pic is what I thought of after the 2nd and 3rd pic and the last is what I did. I had never closed in the bottom of of the rear bumper, cuz I thought I may french in some back up lights and I would need access to install and remove the lite, so pics 2 & 3 show the cut out in the bumper and with a lite installed. I stepped back and looked at it and thought about it and I didn't like it and then set the 12" lite up there to see what it would look like and pic 4 shows it installed.
I had to redo the safety loops twice, cuz the as you can see in pics 1 and 2 they are bolted on either side of the hitch. So I commenced to cuttin' them off & to weld them in and I decided to turn them 90*, so I cut and welded them in. Stepped back and thought why didn't the original owner do that? Oh because you can't get the hitch pin in with them turned 90*
. So I cut them off and welded them on either side of the hitch, but stickin' out towards the rear, which is like a more conventional set up.
Then I commenced to makin' a couple of brackets to bolt the 12" lite to and welded them on and welded back in the now defunct frenched in cut out and painted it all up and installed the 12" lite.
I need to remember to really look at things a bit closer when I come up with a plan when it comes to relocating things(safety loops).
I thought about cutting the frenched in hole bigger and welding in some side plates, but I decided I wasn't going to like that look, so the 12" lite won.
I may add a couple of lites to the rear fenders, but I may wait until I get the 12" lite and the rear rock lites wires up to see what it looks like at night before I make that decision.
Again nothing to exciting, but tinkering is good to get some things off the garage floor.
