2bbs 2021 bronco build

Sick to my stomach over this pos. The new RCVs are fucked, or at least the passenger side. I played with it on the ground before installand noticed a tiny bit of slop. Basically it was tight everywhere to move it arount except one spot where there was almost no resistance. Well its making noise.
Fuck fuck fuck im out almost $5k now (waiting who knows how long on my first refund) and now this set is screwed up. At least the people I bought it from have 20+ more in stock. Maybe Ill swap out just the passenger tommorow and see if it still makes noise.

That sucks, did you find any reviews with other people having the same issues? I imagine that ALL of the passenger side shafts are out of spec....

It seemed to be the drivers side on my last set. I am finding 2 others online with similar issues on the bronco forums. Im hoping rcv might be able to inspect the passenger one I sent back and get it back to me if good.

Oh, I thought that it was also the passenger side, do these things look like birdfields when taken apart?
Maybe it's a outter shaft issue then.

You know it would cost less than $20 in oxyacetylene to torch all that trash off?

:flipoff2:

i would imagine the cv's should be the same left and right, the difference being in the inner shafts

:homer: I forgot this was ifs. I would carefully pull the boot and see what's going on, there's no way that my curiosity wouldn't get the best of me...

every rcv that im aware of is the same cv left and right and the difference is the inner shaft, IFS or solid axle

my 14b rcv are the same left and right, only difference is the inner axle shaft lengths

I ment to find the clicking noise.

No idea. I Bought them so I wouldnt have to take them apart

There are two kinds of companies that offer a lifetime garentee.

1. the kind that make the shit so cheap that you pay for a couple replacements right up front and they hope you get rid of it before any more fail. (Think Autozone)

2. the kind that make their shit so bulletproof that they don’t have to worry about failures.

I really thought that RCV was one of the latter. Hmmmmm

I'm betting the clicking isn't the CV...

Or they realized 99.99999992% of all RCVs they sold to Bronco owners would only ever see a tough life of climbing curbs in parking lots.

They have always treated me right and I really want to believe its the second one.

did you send the other set back? could take the good one from each set and make a good set :flipoff2:

the rocksliders will be fine, this thing isnt a hardcore trail beater

Not to beat a dead horse, but sometimes these low rigs get just as much slider abuse. The last really bad slider damage I saw was a nice clean FJ80 with a 3" lift and 37s. Had the typical 120 wall Dom sliders that all Toyotas have. Came off something that a little bigger than they thought and it bent both tubes up into the body bad enough the rocker was fucked up and the door wouldn't open.

Like I said though, the square tube will take the brunt and the Dom shouldn't get too much direct hits.

So I put a bunch of teck screws in the inner fenders pulling them back wherever possible, removed the stock fender flairs, and installed some 5" backspaced racelines with 37x12.50 coopers. No rubbing anywhere even steering at full flex.

Rcvs still make noise and it sounds like they want them back sooner then later but will give me a discount on the 1st set out of the new batch 12 weeks out.

Anyhow im leaving for the con 6am thursday morning

Looks good. Funny, that color is the most common I see. (I like it) Does it have factory skid plates underneath? Does it have a conventional T-case?
