Pnw apparent has a ton of clean 8.1’s floating around.

72kmi Ecsb with slt seat heaters and 4 way lumbar should take 20k+ to sell.

Edit; yup, they want 23k for it 2001 GMC Sierra 2500 SLT | eBay

It’ll be interesting to see where this ends up too
Edit 2wd really kills the value on them; 14.5k seems like a pretty low number on that.

You people have been hyping these trucks for a long time now. Long enough that the know-nothing retards caught on and are now paying absurd prices for them.
well it used to be that the 8.1 trucks were the ones that fetched the big money and 6.0's were just meh.

150k, measly 6.0, surprised it got that high.
yeah that was the point, i don't understand why 13.5k didnt sell it.

270 on my ex, looks better than those.
did you pick yours out of a salvage auction for $700 bucks in 2019 too?:grinpimp::mr-t:

I think its a big part of what makes the condition so impressive to me- this thing came to me as a pure work truck with many different colors of house paint splatter freckles on the roof and upper doorframes, a scar all the way down the passenger bedside and I dont think its ever seen wax in the last 15 yrs; sheds clear coat like it got a bad sunburn.

I wash it once a year before the christmas parade when i let my wife decorate it with all kinds of scratchy garland and shit, put clear packing tape on the painted surfaces/ whatever they want.

Congrats.

I’m on quite the streak;
I talked Talon2006 into buying a boat 2 weeks ago.

Who am I going to coerce into a vehicle purchase next week?? 🤣

Well after talking 2 ibb-ers into vehicle purchases, I took the plunge myself- but I bought a rusty shitbox for pocket-change after pointing the other guys to well preserved dime pieces of vehicles.

when my cousins Kia blew up while he was moving (separate thread) I looked into the New England area Craigslist/ marketplace for stuff I could buy and have him drive for a few weeks/months before sending it south to me. I stumbled upon an 8.1 Yukon xl that looked intriguing and arse_sidewards generously agreed to put eyes on for me as someone not unfamiliar with rust belt shitboxes. He reported it was pretty decent for the price.

In the meantime, my cousin made other arrangements to borrow a vehicle from a friend so spine motive sort of died.
So the seller followed up with me fishing for an offer about a week after arse met him to look and drive it, and I lowballed the shit out of him in hopes that would terminate the dialogue with ‘that’s what I can offer given the condition, I know it’s low and no hard feelings if it doesn’t work for you’ Well to my surprise (dismay?)he responded with a quick yes :homer: so now 2 weeks later, apparently I own an 8.1 4x4 Yukon xl with 199k miles that is 600+ miles away from me that the people who have driven it say is nicer than it ought to be for the money.

You people are crazy as hell! I'll buy those burban and yukon trucks just to pull the engines for 2-2.5k and send the rust free bodies to the crusher.
Was about $800 till you tittie babies started buying all the toilet paper:flipoff2:
Yeah my purchase was in that range which isn’t bad for an 8.1/4l80 4x4 swap donor.

Thanks very much for your assistance in nurturing that hype; since you’ve now driven one you can opine on the experience, although driving it with 8-10k lbs hanging off the hitch would probably help your comprehension of why people pay money for them.

Here’s the gas guzzler shitbox;

It drives like the bastard child of a V10 Ford short bus and a Dodge Durango which I guess is what they're going for since it's supposed to be a comfortable "family SUV"

I'd rather have an equivalent Ford.

Well I guess being more ford than Chrysler is a nice backhanded compliment so we’ll take it!

(As far as my wife is concerned) Everything that goes wrong with it ever is going to be your fault since you told me I should buy it. :flipoff2: So thanks for helping to salvage my marital bliss!

(And yes, I’m assuming the other guys are telling their wives, their imaginary internet friend who told them to buy their vehicles is to blame every time their cc bill comes in the mail too. :grinpimp: so that’s not a double standard)

1. Who discusses purchases with their wife?

2. You get CC statements in the mail?

Most boomer shit I've read today :flipoff2:

1. Who discusses purchases with their wife?

Actual dialogue

‘Hey babe, we kinda accidentally bough a suburban in Boston today.’

Her; ‘wtf, how?’

Me; well my imaginary internet friend looked at it and said it was decent. And it’s really cheap, because I tried to make an offensively low offer but the seller accepted.

Her: rolls eyes ‘you’re ridiculous.’

This one's semi close. 2005, LS, 8.1/auto, 4x4, 120k. Might have to go take a peek. They're asking $14k

Looks like mine, but with cat eyes. :smokin:

Honestly, I don’t like that look as much, but would have pulled the trigger on one if they didn’t want $20,000 for it.

EDIT: is that a 3500?

Unless they’re paying me to not have to mail me a statement they’re mailing me fawkin statements. Some Banks gave me $10-20 credits to terminate mailed monthly statements and I’m happy to oblige.

Yeah it's a 3500, I like the front ends better on the 2000-02s but I like the seats more on the 03+ ones. It's a toss up for me and none of it matters that much really

Srw 3500’s are pretty uncommon, that’s neat to see.

03 + seats are 2” narrower and moved closer to doors to accommodate the larger console, as a result droving position is further off center with the steering wheel. I greatly dislike the 03+ bucket setup. The worst part of 03+ to me is the finicky digital climate control head units in the higher optioned models.

I did just talk to an old buddy who mentioned he was putting and 03 console in his 02 truck and it fits with 02 seat bottom cushions just slightly rubbing the console sides. Which sounds ideal to me since the gap between the seat and the console in stock formally swallows phones and everything else.

Far :flipoff2:

Far as 8.1 goes, you'd want the later model with updated sensors, no egr, floating pistons, and the 6spd allison.

Like the LBZ, you want 06/07. Suburban doesn't matter as much.

Not to say the earlier ones are 'bad' ... but if yall are paying full retard prices. Might as well get the right truck.

Not a terrible price, 3500s only came with steel wheels due to load rating, so if it truly is a 3500 then thats a fair price if its in as good shape as it looks...

Edit, replied before I saw there was another page where the 3500 SRW was confirmed... :homer:
