What are y'all doing for tool and spare parts storage? Right now I have a sportsman trunk from academy sports, but it kept flipping in the bed and broke this last trip. I had an action packer that worked ok, and before that an in bed took box. I liked the in bed toolbox the best, but I always seemed to be hitting it off rocks and ended up breaking a wing off of it in SD and it caved in on itself. I use tool bags, anyone just strap them down in the bed and party on?

I built this setup in the xtracab area. Holds all my tools in soft bags, hydro lines, rod ends, power tools, recovery gear, axle shafts/birf, spare driveshaft, and some fluids. Action packer in back gets the Bunn welder and a couple of modular pack out style bins for miscellaneous hardware and small spare parts.

Having all items secured in the cab is a must for me in case of a flop/roll.

Now that's fancy :smokin:

Where'd you get those lids?

I had a military box that was water tight with 1/2 turn buckles when I still had a bed. It's actually on my old trailer still.

I can barely access the extra cab with the Camry seats, I did think of something like that though. I'll probably put some of the lighter stuff I don't really use back there like belts and hoses in a bag, shit that if I crash or roll, won't kill me if it yardsales.

I am 100,000% not buying or installing a slide out bed drawer thing unless I get it for free:laughing:

A packrat bolted down in the bed would work pretty slick IMO. Can find them used every so often.

We have also built some slide out drawers that were kinda similar.

Nice being able to pile shit on top and still access everything without unloading the truck

Hijack on

I'm pretty set on adding one to my 4runner.

Lots of them are 39.5"x48" I have 40"x42"

How big of a deal would it be to shorten it ~6"? My thought is not that bad, but I have never paid much attention to them.

Its just a metal drawer with a metal guard over it.....

That I dunno. Only used em. Never pulled one apart

Was one for sale in CA not to long ago for $150:homer:

Seems these could be cramed into anywhere...

I ratchet strap a tool bag to the bed mounted Hi-lift. Two ammo cans for fluids, duct tape, bailing wire, and spares. Fuck fancy bullshit.

Yea but it's $150, and I saw one used once and it will be easy to fit that 9ft long, 300lb metal drawer in your bed and still be able to carry shit on top of it.:homer:

Now Go shit up your build thread!:flipoff2:

This one is already shit anyway :flipoff2:

Fwiw, I don't think I'd put one in a crawler, but for what we use our 4runner for it would be pretty sweet.

Find a utility bed… I came send you a link to one :flipoff2:

Ya, just make it into a trailer and pull it behind.
