your right they are a bit different. if you look at the top left drawing it looks closer to the showroom example, and different from the main drawing there. i take it as the drawing just being a pre production design. the wording on the drawing doesn't make me think that its an aftermarket upgrade.
That's what I was thinking. In the second picture, the artsy graphics don't even look like the same geometry. The top left picture appears to show the kink in the upper arm happening at the gusset of the arm, and then the second kink is well into the "white zone" of the upper arm as opposed to the top left picture showing the ball joint closer kink being at the "white zone". Could just be different design iterations that the marketing guys grabbed photos of to showcase the " #Design ". I wouldn't buy into it being new parts they're releasing.

so are they running the x3 just for the big boy race?

Yes. They built new Maverick R's for the UTV races but didn't have the time or the cars to build them for 4400 and 37's. Last time I talked to Hunter they were not even sure they were running 4400 this year because of the new tire rule so I'm happy to hear that they are at least giving it a go in the X3's. I'm still betting they can get one on the podium if they cheat the course the same as the winners do.

:flipoff2:

Maybe not but it sure is fun to watch them pass and finish ahead of big name teams and big money cars in their $100k golf carts.

:grinpimp:
Not apples to apples. They are the big money and big name SxS people still losing to big money and big name 4400 people.

Sure, they beat out plenty of other non big name people but non big name SxS people don’t even attempt 4400

I think your memory needs a refreshing of the 2023 finishing order.

Everyone behind 7th and 8th place is a nobody in your eyes and only the 6 that beat them are sombodys?

You funny

That’s fair, there are some big names they beat out but once again (from your other posts,) you talk like 6-7 is so close. They are still over 45 min out. That’s a long time.

I really never cared if a SxS won but the hard on you have for SxS’s make me want to never see a SxS win.

Also belongs to Tammy and it’s probably for sale
Saw a story post from Shannon last night of a Campbell Car with Goodall Racing on the side of it. Made me wonder if Shannon's old car got sold to the Goodall's? Any info on that front?

So is the Goodall one the one that had milestars on it (temporarily?) that was at the coop when he was building his

What's going to take first this year? Solid, IFS, FIS, or TTB? One seat or two? Rear steer or drag axle? Front engine or mid? Heavy or light? Ford or Chevy?

If it's a muddy mess like predicted it's going to be the driver that's the most comfortable wheeling in those types of conditions and axle configuration is not going to be as big a factor this year IMO.

I'd argue the opposite way. With sloppy conditions, the extra turning angle of a solid axle will pay off.

Not if the guy turning the wheel isn't comfortable or familiar with driving in those types of conditions.

If it's wet and muddy on race day I'd expect Erik Miller, Big B or one of the other well funded east coast teams to shine because that's just another day of wheeling to those guys.

Meanwhile the west coast flat billers will be more worried about their bare chassis getting rusty and mud getting on their tires than they will be about going fast..... :lmao:

if the ruts set into concrete it's going to be more miserable than if it was sloppy. Hope the ruts that do set actually follow the course....

My money is on Josh Blyler or Eric Miller if it stays sloppy anywhere but unless it rains more it'll be long dried out anywhere that matters for the race course by race day. it's just the lakebed and the pits that will suck out loud. Yuck

Great interview with JAson Scherer and some look into the future. He has driven most all contenders and knows the differences. He is also not locked in to anything so if he could make a $200k SXS win he would save the maybe $400k difference. One car is close to that difference, but at that level there is probably, also, three of EVERYTHING ... Plus qualifying parts, where 1000 lbs may disappear off the car, and a special tune for everything. Jason thinks there are 15 real contenders. That has been growing of late. (I remember back when 5 was the number...and then there was this Healey guy...)

An almost perfect run got the SXS to 6th place and significantly behind hurt 4400's. No one is worried..... But they are not golf carts anymore and the guys would congratulate any winner. .

Tune in on the Jason's thoughts in the Wheeling Wine and Whiskey podcast...just released. All did a great job of getting one of the top hands-on thinkers to explain that top level. I think the WARN Platinum winch and some BD lights are the only "consumer stock" parts on the car, and arguably performance parts. Because they are the best and fastest solution when needed. (Winching is not about line speed...It is about a remote so the co-dog or whomever doesn't have to physically run to engage or dis.... the line. At the top level no one considers marketing for winning results.

Episode 244? About 2 hours. Listen carefully. Pause and think if you have to.

Comments about course cutting is naive. KOH was never about a course...except that you had to go up or down said canyon to a spot and etc. Technology allowed virtual points that had to be electronically hit to try to keep most "in the rocks." I am not sure if there are any hidden points but I am sure that it has been lobbied for. But KOH is a VCP race. How to get to those several hundred virtual points the fastest is the point. If fastest is the cliff..... and want to chance it......have at it. Hero or zero. I DO remember that you had to stay within certain feet of the GPS line, but is rarely enforced because of proof and being squeeky clean yourself. If they are concerned, they will add a VCP. More each year. Why pre-running is important in SO-CAl/Baja racing. I don't know the details but pretty much the "game." Local knowledge generally places you well up in the order. OK. There are new trackers and that will make the long races closer to "short track" for those in the stands. Listen.............
