What's new

Your favorite song covers?

If you like Les Claypool, his cover of Amos Moses is fun:

Definitely not better than Jerry Reed's, but a good cover.

I stand corrected I thought Bob Dylan was the original

I think Bob Dylan only wrote a portion of the song wagon wheel, then old crow added the rest of the lyrics, then Darius made it famous, I will stand by the best version is the OCMS one.

Yep.

Dylan recorded the chorus in 1973; Secor added verses 25 years later

Wasnt really a "song" until OCMS.

Probably overlooked it but TOOL No Quarter. OG by Led Zeppelin. TOOL did it moar betterer.

I find it humorous you post this AND live with your dad. :lmao:

Omen - Radar Love

As strange as it may seem, I've always liked White Lion's version of Radar Love:

Damn the video is fucking gay though. That song always reminded me of the movie Vanishing Point.

Skimmed the thread, didn't see this one:

Clutch Fortunate Son

Ummm, NOPE :flipoff2:

I am not familiar with that group but I like that song so figured I would give it a try, that song did nothing for me. It seems like the lead singer is just yelling/shouting, not really carrying a tune. I have no desire to listen to any of their other stuff.

Clutch is seriously awesome. You should. Listen to Beale Street to Oblivion.

Clutch does it better than CCR did.

Five Finger Death Punch - Mama Said Knock You Out

Motorhead - Sympathy For The Devil

Doesn’t change my opinion that it’s still played out.
Won't argue there. I like some of there stuff, but I also don't listen to them often so it doesn't get overplayed for me. I will change the radio when I hear Darius start singing.

Just thought of another great. Have to turn this one up when it comes on:

What is funny, it is thought that the song dated to the civil war. Black Betty was the name of a gun and there was an offspring of that gun (which was Black Betty's child). Bam da lam was the noise the gun made firing. Take this for what you will, some crap I had to do for a class in college researching music and it's meaning. It may just be wikipedia, I don't remember.
