Alrighty now that I'm a yellow skull, I figure it's time to make use of it. This will be a "build thread" of sorts, from a vendor standpoint. I will indeed show you the complete build of the shop XJ that has been getting all of the testing and prototyping, but I plan to bump this thread with upcoming products, as well as customer projects. This way I can share what I do with all of you who might not follow us on FB (alpinepeakprecision) and IG (@alpinepeakprecision), or might not be on social media at all. I do plan to use the vendor section as well, but having a build thread of sorts out here lets you see what's being worked on at your own discretion.

So to preface for those that don't know, I've been developing a comprehensive XJ product line. Suspension, bumpers, fender armor, frame plating, the whole 9 yards. As of posting this, the full belly kit with front 3 link and rear 4 link are available, as well as the outboard front track bar bracket (XJ – Shop). Coming up are the frame plating, quarter armor, and various bumper options. Most have already been prototyped, but haven't progressed into production yet.

So to start, I'll toss a few pics of the laser scanned XJ modeled with all of the prototypes as well as a few installed pics

Very nice! Looking forward to updates on this thread.

Is that 3/16" material on the corner guards and bumper? Any plans to do alluminum?

Thanks! 3/16" on the bumpers, and 1/8" on the corner guards. No plans to do aluminum at the moment, but I wouldn't say I'm ignoring the idea completely

Here are a few more items getting prototyped. Front frame plating:

Front bumper V2. Can be a stubby or a full bumper at your discretion. Hidden winch, and integrated steering box support bearing

Coil spring conversion with integrated air bumps:

Thanks man! The holes have two primary purposes - drainage and ventilation. If it didn't have drainage it would be much more prone to pack full of mud and debris, but the ventilation is a more significant issue imo. I personally feel that heat soak in enclosed belly pans is an under recognized issue, especially if you have something like a catalytic converter pumping heat into everything around it

looking good! brilliant idea on front bumper w / integrated gear support.

you moving the tank? that rear truss is YUUUUGE!

Curious why your quarter panel protection doesn't go all the way to the edge of the panel. I am not a potential customer, but it think most of this stuff looks impressive and well thought out, so that struck me as a little odd.

Thank you all for the kind words, really working to shake things up in the XJ world.

Denverd that did end up being a relatively overkill sized truss and only ended up being used on this one axle, the production version is nice and clean with 3 bolt holes for optional anti squat adjustment.

Yota thanks on the comments, I tried to make the belly as rigid and easily serviceable as possible. So it's a one tool removal, and has reinforcement spines to keep it straight through heavy abuse.

Mastadon are you looking at where it stops short of the tail lights? It was just a visual choice I made to be honest. It stops short of the door by a similar amount, and stops short of the contour of the wheel well similarly as well. I've had requests for extended armor options to protect the tail lights as well, which would make that a non-issue if I do create it.

Here are some more recent pics of the XJ and other upcoming products:

Which optionally integrates into the bumper for additional support:

Tossed some Dirty Life beadlocks (from the parts counter here!) and Maxxis Razrs on it as well

Also recently dropped an cross-frame rail track bar brace to keep the unibody alive and rigid:

With an optional additional brace that ties directly into the TB bolt:

Yes, I am talking about the space from the edges like you mentioned. Understand the choice you made. If I were shopping I’d probably be one of those people who asked for it to be extended. Seems smart to offer both options

Beautiful builds and love CAD models!

I agree with mastadon

The ones pictured offer very little protection to anything above bumpers. However I can see they’re sufficient in the west where there’s no trees whatsoever.

I extended my boat side and custom rear bumper by a good bit. Saved the body and glasses many times.

What do you use to scan and convert to a solid model?

That’s awesome you can scan then use those models to make parts that bolt up. I wish I had that capability. :flipoff2:

Up here in Norcal we do have a decent amount of trees, and there's enough protection to save the window in most scenarios but does leave the tail lights relatively unprotected. I believe the cut and fold version of the bumper plus the upcoming double shear tire carrier adds some of the protection you guys are noting is missing though.

Panzer, It's a Creaform Handyscan 700. It's still just a mesh not a solid model, but the scanning software allows me to create useful planes and reference geometries for aligning these modeled components. It's a service I do offer and I could see how handy it would be working with your equipment if you're familiar with CAD in general.

The parts look awesome.

Have you reached out to MORR about using some of your stuff, he has a huge following on YouTube.

I agree that extend the quarter panel that bit doesn't make much of a differnece. The few places it would have helped me are 50/50 and the amount of protection would be adequate for me.

Been following on social media for a bit. Nice looking stuff. Any future plans to branch out to other vehicles? Specifically ZJs...

Different rigs. My test rig is the steel blue late model on Maxxis, the other is the dark color old body style on Nittos. It's actually a RHD too which is sweet. But Chris has tested quite a few of these products for me.

As far as the tires go, I was actually open to the Nittos (and BFGs again) when I got the Maxxis but availability played a pretty big part. The Maxxis showed up at my door about a week after order, and 35x12.5R17's have fawkin sucked to get for the past year+. So far I can say the RAZRs drive great on the street. They're fawking heavy like any Maxxis which is to be expected, but I haven't had a chance to start thrashing them for real yet

Cool looks very nice. So one thing i did on mine with the recover points is to open the hole up to about a inch and radius the inner edge for soft shackles.

For the times you aren't shoving a hotdog down a hallway, I put a ziptie on it so you can pull it through rather than try to shove it in there.

I always love your threads. This is awesome. How about a line of stuff for 1st Gen Tundras?

Thanks man, genuinely much appreciated.

No plans to support Tundras right now. Though I did a pair of bumpers for a....first gen (maybe?) Tundra a year or two ago for my sisters husband, I was pretty happy with how they turned out. The front is pretty low profile considering the winch tucked in, but still feels a little bulky. The rear was super sleek though, good stuff all around.

Nice. The 1st Gen tundra is as unappreciated a wheeler as the XJ was 10+ years ago. But I understand you want to focus on one platform right now.

Very nice design, but offer zero header panel protection. Your targeted market are either mall crawlers or people who only wheel in the open like Moab?

My XJ’s header panel will be destroyed beyond recognition here in the northeast wheeling.

Is that D35

The optional add on wings wrap around the corner and protect the headlights a bit more. Now this is still a low profile hidden winch bumper so it's still tight to the front clip, but it does have optional corner protection.

It's a D44 I believe hah. It could prob use a bigger axle, but I had no part in that
