Who’s making good jump boxes?

Alright this isn't a recommendation, just me taking notes for the future.

I grabbed this off brand "6000a" YaberAuto jump pack about a month and a half ago because it was too tempting. I've used it twice and it has been solid so far, but taking bets on how long it lasts

After coupon it's only $80, but like I said I'm not recommending it, just experimenting haha.

I have a nocco gb150 at work. Fires up everything we got (mostly 12 and 24 valve trucks) without issue at all as long as it's charged.:homer:

The only thing that sucks about it is having to remember to charge it more often than a lead acid version like I grew up with BUT that's the only negative thing I can think of and it's just a self training thing. It can be charged by USB, cigarette plug or wall charger.

I had the "3000 amp" (bulllshit!) one and it wouldn't do anything if it got cold. Which is when I mostly need it.

I was back out at the local CoPart lot last week and they have the Noco GB70 in all the loaders.

We use a Schumacher DSR around the lot. It will easily handle anything that will actually start. For shit that gets towed in that barely runs we have a commercial stud top battery that we have jumper cables wired to that we keep on trickle charge 24/7 so it's ready for something with a bit more reserve.

Same experience with the Noco at work. Useless when cold like all lithium jump packs.
We've the 12v and the 24v DSR's at work and they work great. I just wish the charger was built in like the old version.

I bought this one a little over a year ago and it is pretty much been flawless. Jump starts diesels, gas engines, my lawn mower (:flipoff2:), and everything else I have ever thrown at it. The compressor actually still works on this one as well, most prior jump packs that I would buy would see the compressors fail within a month or two.

The only "issue" this thing has had has been that the internal cooling fan relay I think is stuck on, so the fan is constantly running on a low speed. I can hear it quietly humming away as the pack sits on the charger 24/7 until it is needed. Otherwise, I called it into service to jump start sprinter vans when it was below zero and it was the first pack I ever had that could do it without needing another running vehicle hooked up at the same time.

They even make larger sizes than this one.

Shouldn't the fan run while charging for cooling/h2 gas leak?
It runs when unplugged now, too.
:homer: It was user error. I used the inflator portion on my wheelbarrow over the weekend and found the inflator's switch under its protective guard was left in the ON position. This meant that the compressor wouldn't run until reset and a new inflation value was input, but the cooling fan for the compressor motor remained on. The moment I hit the switch, the fan fell silent. ON = fan running, OFF = no fan. Did that a couple times, then set the inflation value, switched the unit back on and barely noticed the fan sound over the noise of the motor.:homer:

Its actually a neat feature, as the compressor shuts off after reaching the right pressure, but now I know I can leave its fan on to cool it off faster between tires.

I bought a jnc 660 4 years ago because it that was the most recommended one. What a joke it struggles to start a lawnmower with a weak battery. I even replaced the battery in it a year ago.
Looking for something thatll actually work.

Buy whatever and replace the SLA batteries as needed.

Sure as hell isn’t the Cat branded one from Costco. On a full charge just off the cord it will barely jump my lawn mower.
You get one shot at it, then you have to charge it again.
Confirmed. Feel bad that the wife got one for me for xmas (or birthday) one year

Any sun around you? Pop a solar panel on your seldom used stuff.

I use a jnc 660

I have the jnc1224 and the thing has been a trooper. For stuff that wants to roll and won’t the 12/24 will handle it no issue. For the dead big stuff I use the 2 8d battery jump pack:lmao:.

I have a gooLoo that's 5+ years old. Works great. Hate the clamps.

MAtter of fact, Every friggen one of these has clamps that are absolute hot fucking garbage. I could switch them out to normal metal clamps but I'd rather complain about it.

Pretty happy with this it'll crank a 12V Cummins:

Snagged a pair of these for the daily drivers on Prime Day deal a couple years ago. They'll crank a CR TDI.

Their LCD screen is really dim and basically impossible to see in direct sun light, need to shade the screen an squint to see what you're doing. The air compressor auto shuts off at I think 40 PSI, so it's useless for real trucks and trailers. Handy for commuter car stuff though. Aired the neighbor kids' bike tires up a few times with them even, when I didn't want to turn the shop compressor on and drag a hose out.

Wrong. I tried doing this. Those mighty max batteries didn't have as much power as the 10 year old DSR batteries did. I sent them back and put the old ones back in. They also weighed a few pounds less than the OE's so guessing they skimp on the lead.

I've had this one for several years. Has lasted longer than any other I have bought. I've had 3 conventional lead acid ones and 2 other lithium battery ones. This one will start a big block at 20 degrees. My ATV battery wasn't taking a charge so I used it to start it a couple times and now the ATV battery is holding a charge again. I don't get it but I like it.

I got it at Tractor Supply on clearance for 70 bucks too.:grinpimp:

you must have gotten a bad one.

Mine is still going strong after 4 years or so, has started everything I have ever tried it on even strangers big trucks and RVs.

I have used it on things with no battery.

It has never given me an issue and still holds a full charge for months on end.

I have The GOOLOO 3000 lithium jump packs in all my vehicles and at work. They go on sale on amazon for $59

I have the GOOLOO brand one as well, but in the GT 4000s model variety. I bring it along on my boat, for the "just in case" factor. I have used it on other occasions to jump start a few neighbor's cars. It has worked flawlessly, and received very good review ratings.

This, I’ve had mine for more than 5 years and as long as it’s not a diesel with a completely dead batteries the 660 will turn it over.

Sure, I upsated the thread with a hospital grade lithium battery for the same price.

My point is no matter what you buy it's gonna need batteries at some point, I mean that's really all they are is two batteries and some cables.
