Because Napa sure as fuck ain’t. First one lasted a year with minimal use. Wouldnt take a charge. Got a new one and it’s lasted 2 weeks. Jumped a Kubota once and it immediately said it needed to be charged. Plugged it in and it’s been sitting there blinking charge for 24 hours. It’s done. Tired of trash. Anything better out there? I jump big shit so those little ones don’t cut it.

Sure as hell isn’t the Cat branded one from Costco. On a full charge just off the cord it will barely jump my lawn mower.
You get one shot at it, then you have to charge it again.

I got Gooloo of scAmazon not long ago.
Starts up to a 10L engine.

Used it just the other day to get my International work truck to turn over (6.7 Cummins).

Then later that same day power went out for a few, used it as a charging brick for my cell phone. It even has a built in flashlight.

Jump N Carry 660. Only thing better that I've found is a large lead acid battery (like a 4D) on a hand truck with some jumper cables.
Solid choice, I was after something more portable.

At home I have a Schumacher charger with a car start function 6/12V, grabbed it off of Tractor Supply clearance for a crisp Benjamin :)

Have several GooLoo from Amazon, work great. I did have a Powerall I got from CAT but fried it hooking it up to the wrong wall charger.

I have 1000amp Schumacher. The first one only lasted a year or two until the battery started swelling. I got another one and so far so good.
It will jump my 6.8 v10 just fine. I can probably use it 10-12 times to jump various smaller things (samurai, lawnmower, atv, 8N tractor, skid steer, etc) until I need to recharge it. Maybe 4-5 times on the v10.

Jnc 660 or 12/24.

Those Norelcos suck if it's cold.

Another vote for jnc 660. It’s what they use at copart and those guys use the hell out of them Daily. I got one for a wedding present and it’s been rock solid for years- will start something without a battery or completely flat dead battery.

The noco will not start something without a battery. Worth noting.

I bought the JNC 660 after asking the same question a few years ago.

Holy crap, I bought it 4 years ago, I just used it yesterday actually, it has been a flawless tool.

The small lithium one I had used before that caught itself on fire after jumping a car with it one day and I swore off them after that as had I tossed it back in the car like I had always done, it would have burned that fucker down with it.

If any one needs some group 31 or 8d batteries in the Northern California area let me kno….. I wrench on busses every day and have a supply.

Where in NorCal? I used to have 2 8d's on an aluminum dolly wired up with a switch to go from parallel to series and made up a pair of jump leads from a set of old 4g jumper cables so each lead was a pair of 4g. That set up would jump 10-20 things daily for months without a charge.

ProjectFarm just did another review of these. He liked GooLoo a lot for the 2nd year.

Noco stuff is great, but $$$!!! I think the jumpbox PF tested was $370!

Orland, it’s next to Chico. I used to work for a trucking company and we used 4 group 31’s together as a jumper. Worked great. Only had to charge it occasionally depending on use like you stated.

Another vote for noco. I was skeptical as hell initially but I forgot and left my camper plugged into my truck which drained both batteries down and it jumped a cold diesel with ease.

I’m in the bring a set of 4d batteries camp. With that said I picked up a jumpncarry 12/24 and have been really happy with it. Had to get something that was man portable to jump start a diesel water pump.
