WHO STILL WEARS PRE/NON-SMARTPHONE WATCHES?

Who give a fuck about time!
People that have to go to work on time.
People that have to count resp or pulse rates.
People that have to document med admin times or document exam times.
people that have schedules to keep. etc.

I guess if you live in a shipping crate with no job it's not an issue though.

See a fair amount of Eco Drives. Bee wanting a basic one. Reliability good to go on them?

This is the model in question

I wear a garmin smart watch but when it’s charging or something else, I’ll wear a variety of cheap Casio watches.

I dont own a smart watch. I have three different phones with multiple lines forwarded. I sure as hell dont want that shit coming over my watch.

Thats a shipping container on a barge on its delayed trip to Alaska.

I wear one while at work, I often am working with both hands and don't want to pull out my phone. I also leave my phone in the truck when I'm manually spraying (don't need distraction in test plots), so it's still nice to know the time if I'm not in full tyvek, or at least know the time as I take off the suit.

I don't want a smart watch, I like ignoring my phone sometimes.

Wore a g-shock a friend gave me from MOS school (2008) until a Hege combine ate the outer rubber dial this fall while replacing a starter. I have the new parts to fix it, but for sentimental reasons (two afghan tours on the g-shock) I now have a traditional face g-shock for daily work wear and tear.

Citizen Knighthawk.

It's too fancy, but the Chrono is handy for getting steaks done evenly since it gives me something to do for 1-2 minutes while I wait. :flipoff2:

Can't have anything that connects to anything at work. I usually buy a cheapo digital watch every 5 years or so. I splurged on the last one and bought a name brand. I hate the front button and the illogical lap timer, but it's only been 3 years. Still have 2 more before I spend the $40.:flipoff2:

I really have no idea why I have so many. Maybe because I used to buy cheap watches, and then got hooked on Citizen. I love that they always keep perfect time.

Hope your boyfriend's wife doesn't see this picture. :flipoff2:

I like to leave my phone in the car or wherever when I am not working and still know what time it is occasionally so I have a couple of dumb watches I wear. My hamilton is so dumb that I have to wind it.

My two watches:

Watch on the right is what my dad wore till he died, what is it?

Im looking at wearing a watch again, i stopped in my early 20's because i was always catching them on something an breaking the band.

I don't want a fucking smart watch, my phone bugs me enuf as it is.

I won't put a smartwatch on, had an old Asian statistics teacher in the 90s tell me we are all gonna croak early from too many waves in the air lol

I got some fun ones, favorite is the iwc porshe design 3511? Has a moon phase and dial flips open to a signal mirror and compass.

Digital smart watches can go take a long walk off a short pier. I don't need another digital leash. I wear watches to A) tell the time and B) see "A".

They are also a bit of a statement. I can tell a lot about a person based on their time piece. And it's never a bad judgement, more of an observation. You can tell a lot about a person by their accoutrements (shoes, belt, watch, pen, etc). It sounds snobbish, but I'm also the guy wearing the sport coat with dinged up steel-toed Redwings and a pair of safety glasses perched on my head in the boardroom asking the C-level execs to show me the problem, right fucking now, if you please (and bring me a tool bag).

I missed out on a Pepsi Rolex several years ago that was going for $7k. They are currently north of $14k now. I should have bought two at the time and now would have a free one (sigh). :homer:

I also have two Freestyle/Reef watches (digital). One stays permanently on HI time and the other is a tide watch for my local station for both fishing and surfing activities.

I may be a WIS (Watch Idiot Savant)

When I was in TX in the 80s I bought a used Seiko from a pawn shop, owner was complaining he had sold out of Timexs but no one wanted the Seiko because they ddin't know the brand, the other reason I don't wear watches is finding a band that fits my wrist close to 11.5 inches round, anyway it was a self winder and I kept it in my pocket, much to the amazment of my watch maker uncle it kept perfect time. I was working with a steamer 12 hours a night and eventually it got moisture in it and quit, so into the pile of watches in my uncle's it went. He worked on it between working on paying customers work, last I heard he needed a bezel gasket, uynfortunaly he has since passed away

i only wear what i call a real watch... not a wrist mounted toy. drives my wife nuts since she cant read what the lill hands are doing without asking me to hold it steady for her.
