Whistlin Diesel is gonna hurt some feelers with this one (R32 abuse)

What I never understood about these common cars in other countries and the fanbase here - if you care so much why didn't you put the effort in to get one imported. I know it costs money and time but there is very little you can't get done with enough paperwork and patience.
Because the fanbois are teenagers with no resources

But that's the perfect time for such bad financial decisions. You have a guaranteed roof over your head, food on the table and no kids/swmbo/etc. All about work and sacrifices.

Its like now I try and work out how I could afford to get a pilots license, but I know multiple people who did it in college without just tossing student loans towards it. I swear I had more free cash flow back then

In high school I was flat rate pulling sometimes over 90h in a week. :grinpimp: what-the-fuck happened? :homer:

Enjoyable poop watching material. I cringed a bit on the ford vid where he smashed the dent side ford (my child hood dream truck, setup just like the on in the vid), but still found it entertaining.

I find his attitude funny, not someone I would want to hang out with, but fun to watch. I've subscribed to his channel, and will continue to watch as long as he makes content I find entertaining.

I think that concept is super important for people to keep in mind.

I read a column in Hot Rod a few years back where a reader wrote in about how pissed he was that televised high-end classic car auctions like Barrett-Jackson "ruined the muscle car market" and now he'd never be able to afford his dream car.

The columnist responded by basically saying "Look man, the prices were going up anyway. You didn't buy when they were 10 grand, you didn't buy when they were 30, and you're not buying when they're 150. You have nobody to blame but yourself." I don't like seeing old shit destroyed for no reason any more than anyone else, But there is also something to be said for the attitude of "If it's so important to you put your money where your mouth is and get the thing, or STFU.:flipoff2:"

Aside from this kid being an influencer shill and incredibly annoying what's particularly irritating about him is if he committed his efforts he could probably pull off some truly cool builds. I guess that's too scary though.

Wasn't the R32/Skyline approved for some company to import a ton of them, then the company turned out to just be a scam?

Up until this year you couldn't have one here. They aged into legality.

Import law in Canada is 15 years so I've already seen all sorts of cool old JDM cars get beat to hell and sent off to scrap. Stuff like the Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution, only 2500 built.

Then he wouldn't have the attention that he gets. It would be another of the 1 million tubers that have forgettable channels with niche entertainment. What appeals to many is he is like the kid who smashed toy cars with a hammer or a rock for fun, but he is doing it with real cars....

Those don't pay as well on social media. Why bother?

That's like saying the news could do better by only reporting the facts. Or Hollywood could do better with realism and plot lines. But those dont draw as many eyeballs and therefore dollars. Would you do your job differently knowing you would get paid less?

That's no shit. A kid on my ship is buying an 89 Samurai for $10K. All original with 49K miles.

Fucking 10K. :lmao:

$10 says its 149k or even 249.. the odo only goes to 99,999. The guy I bought mine from swore up and down it only had 31k miles.

I hated him for years, till he started sending squat trucks through the shredder, then selling cups squat truck. He has mentioned a few times, generally the shit he destroys isn't your grandpa's all original, quality truck. It's shit boxes with a nice paint job and huge wheels. The R32's could very well be clapped the fuck out when he got them.

I only watched one video of his, the one with the tractor parade to support the kid they harassed for driving a tractor to school. That video got school commies fired. That was awesome.

Hot and rat rodder's get this same kinda crap from "restorers" that would not have touched the rust buckets they work on with a 10 foot pole but bitch when they are done about how they ruined some priceless piece of Americana history. Some Waggy people that I run into that are that way.

KT3406E covered it pretty well in the most recent video he did of blowing up yet another old Detroit powered rotbox before he sends it off to scrap. Some things are just a piece of shit nobody wants anymore. The people crying about its destruction don't have the means/space/time/ambition to have it but they'll sure tell you what to do with yours.

Plenty of people would buy that kind of shit no questions asked if people would sell it for a couple hundred what the scrapyard is paying because even if it's shit you're only out a couple hundred. But instead idiots try and list that shit at 2-3x scrap price and then wonder why they have people asking them questions and being hesitant.

Look in any one of the "bitch about CL" threads. A lot of the people reading this are exactly that kind of idiot.

I think a small portion might get sold if priced at scrap. But most of the people complaining online about this stuff don't have the means to transport it, the free cash to fix it, the skills/tools to do the work or the drive to get it done. People online like to complain with no interest in actually making a difference.

Ayup, people cant mind their own business. Buddy of mine took his brand new off the assembly line super duty back in 1999, threw a lift, tires, gears, and lockers on it and immediately started wheeling the crap out of the thing on trails that didn't really see a lot of fullsize rigs. We were out at TDS that year and I remember hearing people on the CB talking cheese about how irresponsible it was to bring out such a nice truck wheeling. Chill out Karen, it ain't yours.
