Ttops, ac, cruise, efi, everything works. Still relatively cheap for a muscle car. I’ve taken this to reddish knob for a day trip. It’s a requirement of all my cars.

there's a really special place in my heart for a T-top Firebird with the 5 speed. Dont even need the V8, just the V6. my girlfriend in college had one and I loved that car. So much fun to drive. fit me like a glove.

I've had this car for 2 years, the only thing I've had to do was replace a water pump. SBC parts are cheap as dirt.

thats the point:laughing:

not really.

how am i going to pass on the passion and love for classic vehicles and HP and hot, nasty speed to my kids if i just drive around in my hotrod by myself? kids should feel the fun and g-forces of cruising and riding in a 600 hp big block with no cats and a 4 barrel Holly.

Teach the kids, and teach them well.

I didn’t read every post, but to to the OP, you have a lot to choose from for around 50 grand. As long as you don’t want a classic Farrari or Lambo, I would pick what you want. Most likely you don’t even have to pay that much. One thing nice about classic cars is they don’t really go down anymore. I don’t know if my Delorean has gone up since I bought it, but it certainly hasn’t gone down.

Like several people said, you can’t afford it if you can’t pay cash.

im not financing anything on this, actually. but i guess i kinda am if i am forgoing paying off my mortgage, well then i am financing this purchase at the rate of my mortgage.

as devils advocate to the "pay cash or you cant afford it", if my monthly budget would handle a car payment easily, why not? Cash is king in hand, and if i can have 100k working for me at 8-10% in investments, and i am financing that same 100K and paying it monthly at 7%, why would i waste my cash on a toy? and if something goes wrong, and i need my cash now, its not tied up in something.

there's ways to look at it differently, but i am mostly in agreement with everyone.

Note:

I said "If you can't pay cash for it it is too much."

Not that you had to pay cash.

This is a turnkey MCD1 truck...
You can't get the chassis for that much
I didnt mean that specific truck, but something of similar but low brow build. A recreational long travel :lmao:

I do agree a race truck is a bit out of reality, until i hit the lotto. :flipoff2:

Who"s the shadow fag? :flipoff2:

My buddy's FIL has a couple SCCA Iroc Camaro's. He was looking to lighten his herd a little.... One manual and the other auto. Right about 30k - ish. He'd probably never sell anything though. Pack rat. :homer:

You cant teach em the right way with MOM in the front seat.

Never understood the "cash or bust" mentality for fun shit, could have enjoyed X for so much longer if it fits in your budget.

Have shared pictures of those that a guy could eyes on? I love a cool old car, and non conventional is even cooler to me
He's got some cool shit. chevelle on boggers, lincoln, DD 70'ish chevy pickup and a mint square 'burban... Smart car on tracks and apparently has a mini jet boat? Never seen the last one.

I feel like this is unobtainable for 99.9% of the world population

99.9% of the world can't really afford a toy car and/or they need the instant gratification of having the coolest/latest whatever on a huge note, so they do it anyway even though it should be unobtainable.

There's nothing about the cash thing that prevents me from having fun shit now...I don't have to wait since I keep a good amount available, I could go out and buy another Porsche tomorrow if I wanted. Once you start doing everything cash, you aren't paying off loans so that money can drop right back into the savings which makes the next purchase easy. Think of it as paying the loan up front before getting the item...it's save -> save -> save -> buy rather than buy -> pay -> pay -> pay. The advantage being rarely is the loan given to be nice, someone is making money off of you on it. People always say, well it's cheaper to pay the loan and have that money invested, but they only ever start the clock on those investment earnings the day the money goes out the door, not all the time it's sat there to build up. And sure, sometimes you'll get a lower loan rate than you can invest at, but often then you're leaving cash incentives on the table (especially with new purchases .. aka the 0% OR $5000 off).

About the only thing that I'm held back on is frickin' real estate...knowing how the market went up here, I wish I had stretched and bought property 5-10 years ago, as it just keeps getting further out of reach.

my youngest says "Daddy, lets go motor speed!" and all that is is when i turn off the traction control in my 2017 CTD and then put the hammer down when we pull off the county road and onto the black top.

i mean, its not ridiculous but a 9000lb tow pig can get up and go and put a 4 year back in his seat.

That rear interior on the Toronado is pimp, and not just because there isn't a driveline hump.:grinpimp:

Lies. I was one of three kids in the back of a '70 vette. :flipoff2:Of course we didn't need seat belts or car seats or any of that nonsense. It was 1973 after all.

It doesn't matter how much it costs. Buy what you want. If you buy something less because it's what fits the family or budget, you still want what you want and it's still out there and not yours. :dustin: Send it! What could go wrong?

.
rookie numbers...in HS we jammed 11 people in a 75 Vette and drove to the beer store 3 miles away.
