What's new

what's too much on a midlife crisis car?

I know I’m retarded. But I was sent a video of two friends that stuck a Duramax in a 70’s Cadillac and a powerstroke in a 70’s Lincoln.

I cannot get the idea out of my head. My new midlife goal is gonna be something like a mercury marauder wagon with a turbo diesel in it. Or country squire wagon.

Pretty sure it was about 4 years ago and a guy was selling his Cummins TD powered Galaxy. it was awesome. body and paint was like a 50 footer but it was solid. i also cannot forget it.

We could probably pare down to that but at our current spending rate, no, it wouldn't cover it. I can't really speak for anyone else in my immediate circle but I can assume they are similar.
Talking basic living expenses. Mortgage, lights, heat, food, etc.

I still think a bmw 335d diesel swap into a c10 would be awesome.

AVERAGE rent or mortgage payment here is ~$2200 right now. That's $13,000 right there. $1k/month for utilities, phone/internet, insurance, car payment, food, etc. ain't much.
Yeah but that's in Loonies or whatever bullshit currency you guys use. $2200 there is $670 here.

Talking US money, so near 30k cambodian tire pesos.

Very original lol

If you live in bumfucknowhereflyoverstate then ya, $20k USD is nothing. Live near the coast anywhere in a higher COL city in the US and $20k might only last a couple months lol

Shhhhh. I'm on the hunt. Gotdamn did GM make a lot of green cars back then.

Great. Another fat 50s guy keeping them going. Because thats basically who drives them. Ugly fucking cars.

now a 1973 grand prix, thats hit raw dirty trashy mildly forced sex :flipoff2:

... fuck yes

I picked up a roadmaster awhile back , and it's just rough enough to not feel guilty about doing a lil "work" to ...

I'm always on the lookout for a vista wagon as well

$10k, some friends, some time, some beverages and you'd have something memorable :smokin:

always liked the Marauders but looking for something more old school cool.

Had the same question recently, and have decided to buy a 09-14 CTS-V. 25k-30k buys a nice example around here with quite a few mods. I turn 45 in January and it will be my birthday present to myself. By January we will be debt free with the exception of our home, and that's less than 40k at this point, so I am going to pull a Light stream loan and buy the one I like, then pay it off over a few months as big jobs cash out.
Found out one of my best friends is dying of Cancer last month. Something changed on me, and I decided that I am tired of waiting on the "Right Time" to have a fun toy. The right time might never come and our time is limited!!!

I bought my "midlife crisis" vehicle when I was 36. It's never too soon.

I still vote caddy:flipoff2:

No, I don't have one...yet.
