What's new

What is your largest expense?

I'm gonna go against the tide here...
1. Mortgage which wraps ins and property taxes (insurance is higher than either property tax or mortgage)
2. Food
3. Medical supplement to medicare.

No car payment no kids living at home presently basically a DINK that 2 individuals get by on SS.

Why are taxes low? Cuz Im a pensioner so I don't pay into SS or Medicare, All this means my IRS and State IRS bills are low cuz my income off SS is low. Only tax I pay is when I do a withdrawal on my 401k...and I get it back in a refund the next year.

Mortgage. Its 4k a month, but that includes my insurance (which includes CA's fair plan act)

Taxes, mortgage and then insurance. Between the house, cars and separate policy for the shop (to get actual replacement value in case of catastrophic damage) insurance is quite close to my mortgage payment. It’s higher than my property taxes, ffs. And property taxes in MT are bs.

Tax's followed by the GF. I wish my projects were farther up the list, but there's not much left after those 2 get done with me.

Income tax
Food pg&e fuel insurance in there somewhere.
Property taxes

Taxes don't feel like an expense because most worker bees never see the pre-tax money anyway. They got us accustomed to being raped and barely noticing.
Exactly.

If people had to actually "write a check" to pay their taxes, Revolution 2.0 would have happened years, if not decades ago. It feels worse when the money comes out of your account vs never having been put in your account in the first place. Now (income) taxes are just another number on your paycheck stub.

I make sure to show my workers that line on their pay stubs.

I was going to complain about my $3800/year insurance cost, since everything is paid for but, I’m good :flipoff2:
My fire insurance is 3500 a year, and my supplemental is 1200.

I should include that my 4000 a month payment includes my property tax too

I'm one of those folks who writes a check to pay their taxes. I don't pay quarterly, just one check. It can sting a little, but I always smile. My CPA should be named Saul.:grinpimp:

All these taxes and mortgage replies. :shaking: Hookers n Blow is the only correct answer. :smokin:

 by a loooong shot. :flipoff2:

But seriously, equipment, if not taxes. Not sure which one wins but I sure as fuck lose. :homer::laughing:

i have 2 stupid high truck payments. but i can pay them off. but one is just under 3% and the other under 2. so i am in no hurry. then taxes by a long shot, a big money for nothing scam.
