Looks like the “team” building exercise this company office did turned into a “fuck that guy” building exercise  :homer:

Colorado man left behind by co-workers during office hiking retreat survives terrifying night alone on mountain summit

When I was looking for a new job prior to landing this one I interviewed with a place who's only "benefit" was that they had weekly "team building" events.

"So I'm expected to spend unpaid time outside of work doing work activities? How is that a benefit?"

Interviewer: ...

Wasn't going to take that job if offered anyway but I'm sure that didn't help.

My company took a bunch of out of staters up to the top of a ski resort during the off season and had them walk back down as part of a nice leisurely nature hike. Hauling a bunch of office dwelling flat landers up to 11k feet and requiring physical activity had the expected results. :lmao:

We also broke a long time no lost time accident record by taking the management team to a curling event. :homer:

Company trips are really boring now.

Team-building......what a joke. Another product of a feminized corporate culture. You spend 8hrs a day around your coworkers, but somehow socializing outside of work is supposed to increase productivity at work.

Unless that was a paid by the company trip full of overtime hours I'd be telling them to fuck right off.

I'd have left almost all of my previous co-workers behind injured on a mountain given the opportunity.
I had one boss that we all agreed that if he had a heart attach or stroke our team building would be shut off his light, shut the door and go home for the day.

I had a job at GM working on the new Traverse. Our team building was go to the bar and drink and BS.

If you have a team with good chemistry it can be beneficial. Forcing that shit on people who could never be friends is a waste of time.

Is that how you decided where to put the fucking battery?

That explains why they are such pieces of shit. :flipoff2:
I mean if you're right you're right. Personally I hate the Traverse now over the Acaida or the Enclave. But that's what you get with made in China designs.

Didn't someone here have an Acadia or Enclave or something that they were just barely able to sell down the river before the bottom end left the chat?

Those things all have piles of factory installed problems. If anybody claims that they got "a good one" GM needs to buy it back and put it in a museum because it's rare as hell.

I've had crews where the weird guy came for drinks after work a couple times and they meshed a LOT better after that. Remove the high stress environment and pour a little social lubricant on a situation and it helps. Or someone gets outed as a fuckin d bag and is ostracized. Either way.:flipoff2:

I got in a minor fender bender with a Traverse in my Tiny 91 Mirage. The Mirage drove away after pushing the front Fascia back on. POS Traverse had to be towed because of wheel rub. I chuckled.

Mt Shavano is one of the 14ers isn't it? Googled the trail and it looks like is 9 miles and 4,600 ft. of ascent. Also says the last leg is scrambling over a boulder field. That's pretty gnarly for a work team building event. I'm pretty sure 80% of the people in my office wouldn't make it.

I wonder how many people here could bust that out off the couch tomorrow?

If you live in CO you're somewhat acclimated. I like the big deal they made of wearing all black. He'd of been OK if he was wearing neon.:shaking::laughing:

I’ll pass on that bullshit. Unless we’re talking about wheeling it.

To be honest, I'd be down to do it, just not with a single one of my co-workers.
