VulvaFour

What age/model range of cars are you looking for fenders for?

I'll try to head down there sometime this week or next.
The wagon in the pics. I want to finish the fender wells. I also need a grille.

See the cuts?

Yeah I see the cuts. But what's my year range for potential donors? I assume there's a comparable sedan that would be fine too.

Thank you.

Will 900 series have close enough body lines to work in a pinch? I'm just going to cut out the wheel arch like it's a patch panel either way.

Edit: never mind, styling line is missing from the 9xx.
Back to the part that Grendel doesn't care about until it matters :stirthepot:
That fender is used on post facelift 740s (1990+) and all 940s.
It is also used on post facelift 760s (1988-1990) and early 960s (1992-1994).
The fenders are the same on both sedans and wagons.

Early 740s (pre-1990), early 760s (pre-1988) and late 960s (1995+ 960, S90 or V90) are all different and will not mix.
The 780 (2 door coupe) had couple years that looked similar, but the fenders on those are different, so that part of the panel may not match.

Eh, if I have to, can make them. :flipoff2:

Whelp, it's here. John thinks a sticky injector hydrolocked the engine, causing this.

That was a cool build, glad to see it made it into good hands. I was surprised to see how cheap he listed it.

Will you be taking it to the next Deathwish Mudbunny adventure?

I think he was thinking mostly parts prices.

I may, will be seen. MudBuggy, BTW... Josh does speak funny though :flipoff2:

Like most rush projects, there are a few things that need to change, like the shackle angles of the front and rear springs. Right now, they're up against the tube stops they tacked in, to prevent them from locking against the frame. Might just four link it, front and rear. It also needs to come down, even on the 37's. 35's may be more stable.

It has a HUGE drop cradle that doesn't need to eat up so much belly clearance.

Trying to figure out if I fix the LQ4 or just drop in a 450hp L33 I have here. I could also turbo said L33...

It needs a cage, for sure.

I want to get a factory rear bumper for it, and hide the tow points and a tire carrier in it. As mentioned elsewhere, will finish off the body, get a grill back in it. I want to look more Volvo like.

Long story short, this is like an Overhaulin car, where it's a rush build to get to an objective, it did it (4 days of mud driving) and then got parked due to build bugs. When he dropped it off to me, he said the car hates him because he hates it.

I will start with cleaning it off, then getting it running again. It has to reliably move under it's own power.

I want some of this action. I’m on team Grendel :stirthepot:
I think for this to be real, we have to list the projects, in work order:

  1. Pinky
  2. Big Ugly, the 2nd War Pig of it's Name.
  3. Audie, the G506
  4. Dodge WC53
  5. Vulva, the 263C (which may just stay a 262C, but still gets an L33, 4L60E and 8.8 with suspension and brakes to smoke the unsuspecting)
  6. Vulva Four <-- This one's a cheat, it already did it.
I may have missed one or two. The "M615" is my son's. The Blazer is yours. Did I miss anything?

Criteria to no longer be a project: moves, stops, turns under it's own power., IE goes down the highway.

With that in mind, the 34 previous ones are already done. Including <Jim>

If someone was to build a 960 into a Trar... just know a cherokee AW4/toyota A340 should bolt onto the Volvo I6 bellhousing since it uses an AW style transmission.

Otherwise this thing is funny in all the right ways.

Y'all liking a pic of a broken rod in a 6L need to find a hobby. :flipoff2:

This shit's costing me dough... It's getting a 4.8L with turbo... since the 745 was originally turbo'd

Dumb questions only from me: where do you end up, money-wise, running a 4.8L vs a similarly configured 5.3?

Don't know. Going 4.8L as they're boost animals and cheap... most say they take boost better than any other gen3 engine.

I got talked out of dropping a lot of money/time into this. It's not how it was built.

Out with a 7 cylinder 6.0l and in with the 4.8l that may see twins - I mean, the car WAS turbo…

Almost no one wants 4.8s. Most can be bought for $2-400, all the rest supporting parts are the same as a 5.3

So this runs, steers and stops, with the 4.8L in front of the 4L80E and NP261.

We're surprised at how much pep is has with 4.10's on 37" tires.
I still think it's getting a Chinese turbo and charge cooler...

The consensus on sloppy mechanics was that junkyard turbos aren’t worth the time when VSRacing turbos are $750.
That's nice, I don't care :flipoff2: - I mean, does it look like I do cookie cutter stuff? It's also not a JY turbo. I pulled it from a good running engine when I upgraded.

Unless you're sending me $750.00 for a turbo?

You are commenting on a complete build that happened from parts in someone's back yard.... and was re-engined with the cheapest, reliable engine I could find... read much?
