What's new

VulvaFour

Very cool, I like Volvos (had a 1986 764TD, a 1989 745, a 1993 945 and a 1997 V90 over the years).
If you need parts for the nose (hood, fenders, lights, etc) that appears to be a post facelift (1990+) 740, 940 or 960-I front clip on it.
The original front clip would have had quad sealed beams and different marker lights and the hood and the front trim around the lights/grill is a different shape.
Local junkyard used to have a decent selection of 700 series (havent looked in a while) and I have a friend who has probbaly parted out a hundred of them over the years if you need shippable parts.

Can you obtain and ship some fender cuts, please?

Happy to pay for your time, etc.

So, we're on this, this weekend. Made new rear shackle mounts and bought spring sliders for the front, from Liquid Iron Indusstries.

Hoping to fix the really shitty front and rear shackle angles and start cutting out the t-case cradle for something else.

This thing is awesome! Definitely adding another want to the list...

I just found the ad shared on one of the Volvo FB groups and came here to see if it was legit. I'm sad now. :frown:

Why are you sad? It's a legit ad.

I have too many vehicles.

No such thing as too many. Chances are I won't get to see the continued development of this thing. That's why I'm sad.

I think you should stipulate that whoever buys it has to continue the build thread and documentation of its escapades here.

Now to fix up the fenders and make it more Volvo like.

I may just do stock front fenders and nose.

Well, since no one wants this, we're fixing shit on it.

Looks like I can bolt the outer fenders to the unibody and cut out all radiator support stuff I need, and weld it back into my chassis. Anyone need a Volvo turbo 4 cylinder?

Also, doing the interior, grafting in actual sheet metal, to take care of the rear end and fender cuts.

Oh and the baby shit brown interior is out, Black going in, with a Dakota Digital dash, a double DIN touch screen for apple car play amongst other niceties, AC anyone?. A friend of mine is doing the grunt work. T-case shifter will move to where the parking brake was, will use the Gm electric park brake mechanism for the 14B rear.

Doing things like cleaning up all the wiring (windows didn't work) and prepping the engine bay for the original turbo volvo cooling stack to come back... because I decided to turbo this 4.8L. Also cut the strut mounts out, since they're no longer used and filled the engine bay with shit.

Bye mousies!

Nice, always easier to start with a clean slate.

Last time I was in a Volvo with the interior that far apart I was parting out Dad's 1984 760 turbodiesel sedan after some idiot plowed into him at 45MPH when he was stopped 15 cars back at a light that had just turned green.

960-I used the same nose as your car (or a version with fog lights in place of the white panel between the grill and the lights).
960-II was 1995+ and got a shorter nose as well as IRS, body colored door handles and different lower trim (same doors, just different trim), body colored roofracks, different tailights (instead of yellow and white lenses like yours has, both lenses are white and the turn signal uses a yellow bulb), etc. Looks like this:

This asshole talked me into a full conversion... including a pimp interior. :flipoff2:

So please keep an eye out for me. 960-II plus preferred. Black complete leather interior, full front clip, rear bumper and rear lift gate.

Will take complete cars, if correctly priced.

See, I'm glad I didn't buy that thing. I actually just listed a project truck I have in the driveway to make room for vehicles.
