This is normally a calm, swimming hole with a waterslide.

During Irene, a little further down, it swept a house off the foundation & under a bridge.

Down the mountain from Mt. Holly and Okemo. Big valley.

We got spared luckily. Seemed to all stay in the next valley north.
 
Lived in Ludlow for 2 years. Oldest son was born at Rutland hospital. The Black River looked like a stream the whole time we were there. Having a hard time imagining just how the pics I'm seeing are real. Mother Nature is a cruel bitch for sure.

It looks like rain every day up there. We’re considering cancelling our trip up north.

Your going to enjoy sights/nature, flood is nature.

We did some traveling after Irene to check out the damage. Impressive to see the pavement stripped from a bridge 50' above the creek, with trees stuck in the truss.

I mowed the lawn today. It's hit or miss

Roads are about normal for construction season. 93 into Concord is about normal, if you're headed to Maine from there is suspect Rt 4 to 16 to 95?

Maybe 93 to 2? Just did a quick Google Map. Concord to Belfast.
 
Small brook calmed down enough to drive up it. Normally had about 5" of water in it (thats a 38" swamper) . There are endless flood pics on socials. Going into work tomorrow, pretty sure I can get there.

Ever go up by Esopus/Big Indian area? My sister had her wedding up there in October after that came through, the road just north of the venue was completely washed out, 6-8' diameter culvert hanging out a few hundred feet down in the valley. Kinda neat to walk around and see but that area got rocked for sure.

That was the area where the bridge I found was. I don't know exactly because we were just driving about after stopping at the Octoberfest at Hunter.

Ran up through Wilmington, somerset, Manchester, Danby, over to Ludlow and down to Dover yesterday. Ludlow was by far hit the hardest. 6 hours to go and back track 160 miles.The Deerfield River by my house was up 6’ Monday night.

We’re staying in Franconia to see Jericho and Mt. Washington. After seeing 38’s in that water I’ll keep my 33’s on drier land. :laughing:

That's Jericho VT. Not sure how Jericho NH did in all this. Luckily Mt Washington is the highest peak in the northeast. Your 33s will be fine on the auto road :flipoff2:
