This is the first thing that I built on the old site. I had no idea what I was doing. But it worked. After years of plodding along it’s time for an update. Keeping the original 304 and t19.
231/300 doubler
Novak adapter
D60 and 8 lug d44 outers
Spartan locker in front
Hydro assist
Wheels and 37’s of some flavor.
This will be a reeealy low budget.

Had a productive week. Front end torn down, locker installed u joints replaced, ends cleaned and painted. I ordered the wrong hub seals so I’ll have to get those to finish putting that back together.
Brake drums and rotors turned.
Transmission main shaft replaced with the new one. Decided to replace the front and rear bearing while I have it out. Pretty good week.

Little progress, transmission is back in. Transfer case adapter has a seal that is 1 5/8 inside and snout on transfer case is 1 3/16 long.
There is going to be a void that will get oil in it. Do you think this will be a problem? Should I remove the seal so it will be a little lower and less oil? The Dana 300 is a full 2” that would have inserted in the seal.

Alternate - source a sleeve to go into the adapter to make up the extra length.

The stock Scout II setup did something like that even with the Dana 20.

Now you have me wondering about the snout on my Atlas. :D

No room, the whole cone just goes into the center section. There will just have to be a little oil in the bottom section. It’s only about an inch deep.

Productive week, got the back half stripped out and a buddy came over yesterday to help me get the Dana 60 together. Doubler is ready to go in.
Scored some Yokohama 37’s and a set of hummer wheels in great shape.
