What's new

Vehicle prices that make you say WTF?

None of my vehicles have dings, bings, whatever, holey shit that's annoying.
Stick the key in this turd and it's got like a low air pressure in a truck dinger.

After running this, I'm plenty fine running no newer than early 2000s stuff.

Is it really that hard and painful to just put the fucking seat belt on?

My wife’s new Mazda dings if you start the car without putting the seatbelt on. Still in park, not moving, ding ding ding. fuck that nanny bullshit.
My JK does it too, drives me nuts. Dings a bunch of times when you start it without a belt on, then more for the stupid TPMS, and then again for the seatbelt when you take it out of park.

I just bought a new Tundra, OMG the Nannies on it.

I bought some 'seatbelt extenders' off Amazon and fixed most of it.

Basically they plug into the seatbelt buckle and you plug the seatbelts into them.

I was hating the truck till I got them.

Dude my new Tundra

Back up to my trailer, drop it onto the ball but need to move the truck forward a tiny bit so i can lock the coupler, jump in the truck, put it in drive - nope, has full brakes applied and a warning on the dash to buckle seatbelt before moving. You cannot move the truck forward 1/2" without the seatbelt on.

I bought bypass shit to fix that as it was making me hate the truck.

a lot of the pushbutton autos will throw the park pawl in if you open the door to get a better view of the hoist arms you're driving over
just "clunk, here's the dashboard and a-pillar, ejecto-seato cuz"

but the traction control shit that can't be turned off won't let you spin the tires even a little bit in snow to get fucking moving, since that could break something under warranty?

I hope this is peak fucking clown world in automotive nannies, but I know it'll be surpassed in time.

Be happy there is still a steering wheel

You can thank the star Trek dude that ran himself over for that shit

I had to tow a 17 fusion that wouldnt start. backed up to it, tilted trailer down and pulled the rope. got in it, put it in neutral and got back out with the window down to steer it. drug ten feet or so and thought why are you pulling so hard, well duh the fronts are dragging. so I got back in, put in neutral and opened the door so I could see the trailer fender and it put itself in park.

Trying to look into a 25' 4 runner, I talked to 3 different dealers, it's like it's some kind of big secret on getting any info from them. Their eyes just kinda glass over. :shaking::shaking::shaking:

.

My 22 F350 does none of these things. If you want to open the door with your seat belt off and back up it doesn't stop you. Dings at you but none of that other bullshit
My 16 RAM did the door open stuff. Very annoying when you need to back up 2" for the trailer. If you opened the door under 5mph, slammed itself into park. My 18 Ford does none of that. Just dings at you once.

That's what you get for owning a truck with a dial for a shifter. :flipoff2:

A friend of mine had a 2018 Ram, we parked up on a hill a pretty steep one and we would back up it to make leaving easier.

He goes to back up and that truck "senses" something behind him and locks up the brakes, he gets out all WTF gets back in and tries again. Nope same thing happens. He keeps trying and it keeps locking up the brakes much to our amusement when he finally gets mad enough and pulls a good 50 feet forward. He backs up hot and that thing locks up the brakes, he slides far enough he is part way up the hill and the brakes let go and he can now back up the hill normally.

The guy that played in the first new star trek movie. Got out of his jeep right after the new Chrysler gear selection knob thingy came out, left it in drive and it pinned him against his gate.

And now they all slam into Park when you open the driver's door.
