So you could probably just stop making payments after a couple yrs and take the hit to your credit and they’d likely never do anything about it Even if the economy doesn’t collapse. In which case if your moral compass permits that you could just take an enormous unsecured loan from any source for any reason and invest the cash in the method of your choosing & hope it pans out or just plan on default on it too.

I looked at the payback at current rates and it’s somewhere around 10 yrs at the cash price& 14ish on financed. my bet was that green new deal and clean energy is gonna drive energy rates up significantly, and that’s where my upside lives. We did have a half a cent/ kWh increase within the first 6 mos, so i feel good about that. But the reliability of the equipment is pretty strong over the first 10 yrs, and there’s their warranty over that period which I assume is gonna be approximately worthless given the scammer spidery senses these companies trigger, so it’s pretty much a break even/ lost opportunity cost of the cash in the most probable worst case scenario.

holding cash is somewhat risky so I felt that needed To diversify / hedge the risks somewhat, and this worked as a portion of my diversification strategy.

There are almost always options, we just refuse to think about them because they're sacrifices we're too uncomfortable with. I agree, comfort is of too high a value right now and people will likely be put in positions of doing things their uncomfortable with. Most of us are feeling it now with the mandates, we're uncomfortable with them. But if we roll over now to save our other comforts, we'll lose more and more as the push continues.

Pushing back doesn't have to involve violence. You don't like California mandates, move now to a friendlier state. You don't like mandates at work, stop working there and find a job elsewhere. You can't afford to do all this, reach out to those who may be able to help. Be humble,

I'll try. It starts with saying No. Leaving a state that wants to force it's will on you is saying No. Leaving a job that wants to impose mandates is saying No. People who think they're in power have zero respect for you, but you always have the power to make your own decisions and saying No in this manner will not only allow you to affirm your principles, but it sends the only message to those who think they're in power understand. It sends the message that they do not in fact have control over you and if enough people do it, they may get the message.

They think we believe our only option is violence, I believe that can't be further from the truth.

Yes currently there are friendlier states but they will in time be forced to kneel without the support of the other states, the ones people ran from. At that point the government has the dissidents rounded up in 5 or so states and can take appropriate action.

This is very true, I have 2 thoughts to this. If you are a voice of reason and have the ability to stay and the fortitude to use that voice it does make more sense for that person to stay if they're willing to make those sacrifices.

And for the person who is not willing to use their actual vocal voice of reason, leaving is still using their voice just by a different means of communication.

I will give you a pass, you don't know me. Locally I am involved in several groups that advocate for my rights and rights of my neighbors. We have meetings, we coordinate folks getting out to vote. We have changed our city's council to effectively change the mandates. We have changed our school board to change the mandates. We have effectively changed our county board to change the mandates.
