Looks like this guy is going
Yep, he’s an ex UA reader who lives in Florida. Bubba rope needed a fill in, they are in Florida and hooked up.He has been posting updates all week. He’s one of the “sponsor vehicles”
I thought Ian was repping Real Truck in his Colorado?Yep, he’s an ex UA reader who lives in Florida. Bubba rope needed a fill in, they are in Florida and hooked up.
Falken used to send their own people. Now they sent one of their U4 sponsored racers.
OnX off-road sent Nate from dirtlifestyle on YouTube.
An ex 2021 UA reader is representing real truck.
The videos the last few years have sucked. 20min total to cover a week of wheeling, when you know they have hours of footage. I want to say that they tell the YTers and others that they cant post videos of the trip, or atleast until after MT does, which seems like months afterwards. If I was a sponsor, I would want all of them to be posting updates and pics everyday.I kind of assume everyone who is selected has a YouTube channel at this point, and the fun will be ruined when everyone releases their own videos before official videos get out. The more videos talking about Falken Tires and other sponsors the better, right?
This... usually that's how something would work. At least they could still do DVDs, I miss the full length videos from UA and especially the KOH DVDs, those are all playing non stop in my shop when I'm wrenchingIf I was a sponsor, I would want all of them to be posting updates and pics everyday.
Your right, I think he is reppin real truck. The UA 2021 reader said he was reppin real truck as well. From what I understand real truck owns a bunch of brands that are sponsors so he may be representing “n-fab” which is own by real truck. Or one of those other non hardcore companies real truck ownsI thought Ian was repping Real Truck in his Colorado?
Why even send a camera crew when enough of the participants have their own YouTube channel and will create content? Just pay the guys to go wheeling and make videos for the Ultimate Adventure video and don’t let them release anything on their own channels. Why even send a cam crew if they're going to be 5 min vids!? Fuck we'd probably get better content if they told the drivers to post a 5 min recap vid every day from thier fucking phone
This.At this point we could make an infinitely more entertaining UA by getting 10 irate members together and hitting 4 SE offroad parks over a week.
Worth repeatingLastly on the hardcore topic…even if it isn’t hardcore in our minds I think our view point of “hardcore” is different. Irate is full of hardcore wheelers. I bet 95% of the viewers think any UA is hardcore and I think last year proved that with the OnX off-road rig…last year was a joke, they brought an overland Colorado. They broke the thing every day. Ring and pinion, locker, CVs, crashed the thing into a tree destroying the front end. That rig is probably representative of your typical viewer and that thing basically got totaled after 1 week of UA. It didn’t even wheel the last day IIRC.
The one thing I’m bummed about is sponsors. It’s a catch 22. The event happens because of sponsors. It wasn’t a sponsor pimpin fest until recently IMO. It deters from the videos and it doesn’t have to. Also the sponsors all used to be hardcore. Now you have fucking N-Fab being the official “side step.” No one on UA has side steps.
Edit and better camera work sometimesI don't even see why they need to load it up with sponsors these days. You can see very similar type trips put on by gangs of YouTube influencers with less overt advertising and better wheeling coverage.
+1Im not a flex rocks and rollovers fan boy, but those multiday wheeling trip videos are far more entertaining than the last few UA's.
Edit fukk 5 min boobtube vids06h3 glad you gave them that feedback on the 5min vids. I keep hearing people say no one wants to watch YouTube videos over 5 or 10mins but that seems retarded to me, especially if you are trying to watch wheeling coverage.
Is this the reportedly $10000000 ?Your right, I think he is reppin real truck. The UA 2021 reader said he was reppin real truck as well. Whatever happened to Tim? Rumor has it that hazel got tired of him breaking down and he wasn't invited back....Some of that has to be logistics'. There isn't much of a way to see any parts of some of these states if your only running a certain type of trail. If it was hardcore only everything would be broke day 1 and 2 and then not be able to get to anywhere else. I think they do a good job considering the size and range that they plan on covering.
I do miss Tim's Sami and a few of the other unique rigs.
They probably had to boot off one of the most popular people on UA to make room for a marketing exec in a JK from 4wp.Whatever happened to Tim? Rumor has it that hazel got tired of him breaking down and he wasn't invited back....

Same. I saw the YT vids, and figured they were short teasers for the real video on MT. They do that with alot of their programming. Alas, it was not.The short video time was infuriating last year. Comparing view counts on YouTube from 2021 to 2019/2020 it looks like 2021 was almost 100k fewer views per video so hopefully they fired whoever made the 5 minute decision.
The other thing that is infuriating is I pay for a MTOD subscription and they release the fucking videos to YouTube first. Like why the hell should I support the content if I have to go somewhere else to see them first, for free.
Didn’t think about finding videos from outside MT, so thanks for that idea. I’ll now need to go back and rewatch a lot of UAs from other perspectives. Sweet.
It’s changed but it’s still something I dream of being able to attend one day.
Anyone know how to get hold of the pre 2013 stuff? It’s spotty finding coverage on the internet prior to then, are the DVDs still available?
Duuuuuuude. That'd be rad as hell.I have all the videos on a OneDrive. Let me find out how to post ‘em here. I think I have 2002 or 2003 on up
FixedId 100% be down for this.
Maybe we should set up the first annual Irate Crusade for 2023?
You should fuckin show up when Harlan rides are happeningAt this point we could make an infinitely more entertaining UA by getting 10 irate members together and hitting 4 SE offroad parks over a week.
