Trump’s new Border Csar: Tom Homan

If Tom Homan is made the “Border Czar”, it will be interesting to see the effects in the HOA I work in. Majority of the workers I deal with are “South American”, and “Eastern European”.

I have no issues with immigrants…

If you come here, do it the way you are supposed to. When you get here, become an American and… LEARN ENGLISH.

There were/are hospitals in the PNW that have baby packages catering specifically to the chinese. Wealthy pregnant chinese women were coming over to "visit" give birth and get their children citizenship andthen going back to china. We got a whole new generation of chinese I mean Americanspies getting indoctrinated.

I was born in Texas. For better or worse, I am a native Texan. It doesn't matter if my parents were from Louisiana, or Maine, or Sweden. It doesn't matter that the hospital was 1/4 mile from state line.

I believe if you're born on this soil, this is your native homeland. The newborn should get shipped back to (wherever mom is from) with the mom. At 18 your citizenship is recognized and you can come here, get a job and a driver's license and start paying taxes with the rest of us.

That's also been the case nationally since we were founded as a country. It wasn't until the later part of the 20th century that it became a problem when all the entitlements were introduced.

President Trump advocated for getting rid of illegal alien degenerates and other undesirables. The “bad hombres”


Build the wall, deport the bad guys and get rid of the dole first, then you can work on a solution for people that just want to live there American dream.

I think most of us would support some means to allow working, tax paying illegals to stay. But the burden should be on them to document themselves and start the process. No green card/work visa? Bye bye. There should also be a significant penalty to becoming a citizen ahead of those that started the process legally.

I agree, but this is a huge problem that needs to be dealt with strategically. His no remorse attitude towards families right out of the gate will cause resentment and problems in the mid terms.

His blustering should be focused on the wall and bad hombres first.

Need to just make it a national standard and be done with it.

Get into this argument all the time with one of our foreman. He's from some bullshit SA country, but he's been here his entire life and his English still sucks. He gets all pissy because we won't learn Spanish. Go fuck yourself, English is the official language in 32 out of 50 states including the one you live in. It's also the language used overwhelmingly by not only the US but the world outside of China. If 186 countries can speak it, so can you. Speak English or die.

Self deportation is a big part of the strategy. And aggressive messaging is a major part of that strategy. It's exactly the same, but opposite of the messaging the Biden administration put out.

I agree it could be a problem in the midterms, but extra extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. There's no guarantee of maintaining control of the house and senate, so they will need to be aggressive up front.

Depends on how far you want to take it. Sitting President can EO it like they do with Federal holidays. Would work for getting forms, websites, etc all converted to English only and establish a standard to reference at a Federal level. Actual law would require Congress to act obviously.

You can be stupid, win one election and ram a bunch of shit through pissing people off or you can tactfully make the right changes so that you don't blow future elections. Some things can be day 1 changes, some can't.

My wife's school has Spanish classes well past when they should be needed. If you show up for first grade speaking Spanish, you should leave the first grade speaking English. They do it in stages, like 10% English first grade, 20 percent second etc. Throw them in an English speaking class with an interpreter and be done with it.

Like anything else, it's all designed to hit standardized testing metrics to maximize school funding. They don't give a shit if the kids learn anything.

Same reason American kids can take whatever language class from 7th to 12th grade and graduate high school barely being able to fumble through an elementary level of whatever language they picked.

He is dealing with a hostile interviewer or hostile politicians in these clips, they are also old clips from when he was running ICE under Trump. Homan is a serious and capable person by all reports and if Trump is going to make good on the mandate that he was given by the American People, then he needs serious and capable people. Deporting people is going to piss some people off no matter what, there is no nice way to deport someone.

The standard argument for allowing illegal immigration is that it props up our constant growth economic model. We are supposed to see the GDP line go up and our representatives are encouraged to borrow and spend more money because the line goes up. The neat thing about GDP is that it includes public spending so the more welfare programs are created the higher GDP goes. In that respect non producers are the ideal import, the ideal citizen too really. None of this takes into account the actual standard of living. California has a very High GDP, our dear leader never shuts up about it, but it sucks living here.
 
If they truly deport all or most of the illegal immigrants, there will be a large negative impact on the US economy. The vast majority of those people are here doing the jobs no one else wants to do. With low unemployment right now, there will be no one to backfill those empty jobs.
