Yep. The head of Capitol police at the time has straight up said that the crowd was full of feds. The crowd was a bunch of morons riled up by Trump throwing a hissy fit about losing. They're guilty of being stupid and gullible. That was a hissy fit that manifested itself into a riot with a bunch of people just tagging along for the ride gawking. It wasn't an insurrection.

And on the flip side the Dems are basically just anti-Trumpers at this point. They'd vote for literally anyone as long as it's not Donald Trump. We have two opposition parties that stand for nothing other than opposing anything the other party wants. It's a truly sad state of affairs and I don't know how we're gonna find our way out of this mess.

The problem (one of them) is that Trump is uniquely self destructive. Sure, the media has worked day and night since 2016 to destroy him, but he sure has helped them.

Policy problems apart (and there are quite a few), it sure would be nice to have a candidate who thinks before opening his mouth.

Oh we're not going to find our way out of this mess. I've got a kid starting 2nd grade, and one starting 1st... and I'm 50/50 on whether or not they'll ever go to high school. Because high school might not exist 8 years from now. I just don't know.

Have lots of fun now. Because fun is going to become a thing of the past methinks.

He's like a pro wrestling heel feeding off of the crowd hating him. The people his base hates hate him and that makes his base love him even more. He pisses off the people they hate. It's really just that simple.

In pretty pessimistic about the future too. I just see us getting more and more politically and socially divided and the political class, media, and social media platforms do nothing but best the shit out of that wedge that's driving us apart.

Which is why despite his many pre-covid successes, he attracted very few democrats to his side. Their hatred was too intense.

Reagan redefined policy for decades - and even democrats have to tiptoe when speaking ill of him - and Trump didn't.

Being reasonable, the next election should be Vivek Ramaswamy vs. Tulsi Gabbard. Or Rand Paul vs. RFKjr etc etc. We'll never get that. What we'll get is Bozo The Clown vs. Pennywise. And we'll all have 1000 threads here about Bozo because at least he's not trying to lure us down into the sewer to kill us.

If trump is getting indited for saying there was problems with the election can't hillary be indited for the same thing? Pretty sure she had a lot to say after she lost.

If trump is getting indited for inciting a riot can't we also indite the leaders of BLM?

Them way overstating it doesn't justify you way understating it. It was a pretty solid riot with cops getting beat up, windows smashed, etc. It sucks that chick got shot but let's be honest, prior to January 6th what would you honestly say would be the likely result of a crowd storming the Capitol building and trying to force their way through a barricaded door guarded by armed men with members of Congress behind them? If she'd died because a cop kneeled on her neck for 10 minutes while she was presenting no further threat I'd fully agree with you.

I've said as much since before the 2020 election. The people who voted Biden didn't vote FOR Biden, they voted for anyone but Trump.

I absolutely think the crowd was full of Feds and we know for sure that Capitol police did exactly what you're saying. But that chick got shot while trying to force her way through the broken window of a door guarded by armed men. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's most likely to happen next.

At Ruby Ridge and Waco the Feds were the aggressors. Big difference. There were a shit ton of Feds in the crowd. I don't doubt that a bit. Some of the Capitol police let folks in and even led them around. We've all seen the videos. But that lady got shot because she was powerfully stupid. If you're trying to climb through the broken window of a barricaded door guarded by armed men yelling st you to stop... I mean, that's basically just suicide by coo at that point. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes type of deal.
