Tourist submarine exploring Titanic wreckage disappears in Atlantic Ocean

This topic is certainly generating a lot of traffic here between this thread and the two spin offs. Someone Google it and see if Irate is coming up at the top of the list.
because google watches YOU.

likely not the same for someone who has never visited the site ever.

Edit:

I misread your quote.

Still it would need someone not affiliated with the site in any manner to get a feel for it.

So they disappeared sunday, monday all the media took hold and they said they had 40 or 48 hours of oxygen.

Why are they saying TODAY that they have 40 hrs left?

What i read on monday is they had a oxygen scrubbber, some Christmas ornaments they can hang up that supposedly act as a scrubber, and some tanks of oxygen.

I wonder if they can only open the valves on those oxygen tanks from the touchpad.

And I thought it was 84 hours of air. I could be mistaken.

Highly probable ? If so.......................... highly stupid. If you have more than 2 working brain cells you ALWAYS have redundant systems in place.
I agree, but I can also see that someone that is undercapitalized and overcommitted would see the extra valving in piping and potential leak points to be not worth it.

Room for one more...

Watch the videos of the inside, that thing is bare. 3 monitors and a single button.

and a bucket to crap in.

Ages ago I heard rumors that we knew when the Soviets/Russians fired up one of their diesel submarines. Considering sound travels through water better than air, I'm certain someone "heard" it.

The ship above the sub was also apparently tracking the sub with sonar, so someone HAS to know something they're not letting out yet.

Flip side: We're all being tricked into thinking something went wrong and the sub actually turns up safe. Book/movie deals and news/media tours as a result.

It'll pop to surface sometime in 2040 in Khyargas Lake in Mongolia while a father and son are fishing. It gets drug out and everything inside and out are just as it was before it was last seen entering the Atlantic Ocean. 1hr45min of operating time shown on everything. Only things inside will be a knock off Playstation controller and a piece of paper with a Simpsons sketch.
Around that time people notice these five in pictures of the Titanic while at dock.

So you're saying The Simpsons predicted this as well?
The episode where Homer joins the Navy. Bart gets an ear pierced, Homer gets mad and takes the diamond earring from him. Homer is stationed on a nuclear submarine because of his work at the nuclear plant from which he was just fired for nearly causing a meltdown. Sub springs a pinhole leak. Homer thinks back to taking the earring and it is still in his pocket. He uses it to plug the leak and save the day.

T'was where I started my saying: "I've only seen one ring plug a hole. And that was an earring, in a cartoon."

I'll bet that little toilet is full by now too:barf:
How much waste comes out when nothing goes in? I'd reckon a guess that dude didn't plan for four days of food and water. Hell, probably not enough for legitimately 12 hours.

Even with this CEO coming off as a cheap bastard, I can't conceivably see a way the toilet doesn't have a tank with a sealed off from the cabin. An actual seal, not an RV flapp....hmm.. OK, I could probably see that. That's fucked. It was fucked when I saw the toilet seat was in front of the viewing window/hatch.

Even if it is sealed, it's most likely a very small tank and was filled day 1. Plus, there is residue in the tube between the seat and tank. Would be electric also, so if it lost that..

Read from earlier post that sub occupants can't open from the inside.

Also read there are 17 bolts from the outside that seals the sub; even if the sub surfaced, occupants can't open it.
So it's possible they could be found floating on the surface yet dead from lack of oxygen.

Surely there is a panel hidden somewhere full of breakers, switches and valves.
I bet not. If you were looking to build a pressure vessel as cheaply as possible, the last thing you would want is intrusions from the outside.

fly by wire would let you get by with 1, maybe none if you were willing to rely on a wireless connection through the hull.

I'll bet there are no through hull fittings, all wireless. I'd laugh if it was dead batteries in the controller that caused the problem. I did not see any safety surface mechanism like a small balloon with a fill cartridge on the outside released by remote solenoid :homer:. It's a fuggin can with a wireless electric motor strapped on the back

Kind of the direction automobiles are headed , no?:homer:

It's like a furniture store "going out of business sale"

Wonder how much money has been wasted looking for these clowns?
None yet.

Have they officially dispatched anything at this point? Coast guard been fawking around wasting time making sure they Don’t look for anything. Seemed like they’re waiting till all they gotta do is paperwork on recovered dead bodies.

That is why the first thing you do in an emergency is establish a pee corner.

second thing is figure out who you are eating when it comes to that.
