Do our selected officials know something we the people don't? The majority of public sentiment, on both sides, seems against funding foreign wars while ignoring our own problems abroad, yet this is all we get. Literally nothing else it seems. Is the fix permanently in or are the sitting politicians cashing in/cashing out while they still can?

Exactly who will hold them to account? Most everyone knows what's going on in Ukraine. What I'm asking is why not even so much as a veiled attempt to maintain the status quo? They're not even pretending to play politics as usual anymore it seems. Have they proven to themselves we the people will never push back or is there something else going on?

I don't get why athletes think we give a shit about their opinions on anything other than their sport. Get on the field, throw the ball around, make millions and shut the fuck up. They are not getting paid for their intellectual prowess or political affiliations.

Because they are narcissists, who truly believe that their opinions FAR outweigh those of the simple peons who idolize their superior athletic prowess (and subsequently pay them to play the sportsball)?

Also pertains (including the related 'skill' or talent') to entertainment celebrities, politicians....and increasingly....people who take to various social media outlets to profess their knowledge about completely inane things and opinions about how we can better our own existences.

This, but also they have been told over and over that they have a platform of greater height than the average person and are obligated to do something good for society. Unfortunately, most in that position cannot figure out what that should be, so they just pick up the same crap spewed by others and re-spew it.

I don't watch professional team sports. They're not my thing, especially since they have gone woke. There is no place in my life for racism or stupidity, and this DEI woke shit is both.

There's a lot of truth in that GIF. In the early 2000's I was a working cop, I took my family to the Fresno fair. I was off duty and carrying my pistol concealed. There were signs all over the place saying no weapons allowed, security had metal wands and checking everyone that went in. My wife asked me to leave my weapon in the car. I told her no this is Fresno and I wouldn't do that and besides watch me and I'll get in without any issues.
I walked up to security, he wanded me but it was obvious he had no idea what he was doing and I walked in with my pistol. My wife was shocked, my response was I'm a good guy and I got in with a gun without any issues now how many bad guys got in with guns.
I've gotten into amusement parks, concerts and lots of other "secured, gun free zones" events carrying my pistol. I even boarded a commercial airline carrying a pistol. I was on duty and had the proper paperwork but just to see I simply told TSA I was an on duty cop on official business. TSA never checked or even asked for any credentials. I boarded the plane and was shocked they simply took my word for it.
Most security is setup to make the general public think there is security which makes them feel safe but the reality is it's all for show.

This kind of self-assured smug arrogance by the libs is one of the only glimmers of hope- that they're gonna jump the shark so hard with scale to which the election vote manufacture is required, that it'll be so flagrant in the aftermath there will have to be some sort of recount/ investigation to maintain the facade of checks and balances.
