Rona is easy on most people so I understand the ‘meh’ attitude of most on the entire pandemic. I was there also till I was in the hospital.

on the vaccine. I see a thread full of people who are selfish, uneducated on the vaccine/approval, and hypocritical. The faster we to herd immunity the faster this goes away. The slower we get to herd immunity the more variations of the virus we will see and the longer restrictions will last. You bitch about restrictions and a mask yet do nothing proactive to help the situation, some in here said they won’t get it but also are not an anti-vaxer, lol. Sometimes pulling your weight helps you in the short and long term. Or you can do it for your family and friends to get us outta this mess faster.

The no trust in .gov, no trust in the news, and based on that people almost randomly pick what they ‘heard’ to believe = buncha anti-vaxers. It’s a sad situation and if rona was only the sniffles to me, I’d probably be an anti-Vaxer with all these stubborn folks.

Like, you, I'm young (30s), fairly active, moderately healthy, and got the rona.

Also like you, it nearly wiped me out. 1st week was meh, week 2 was heavy, chest wouldnt expand, difficulty breathing, temp 101 on monday of that week, climbed to 104 steady by thursday. Medicine did nothing.

Fortunately, wife is an RT who worked (more on this later) directly with covid patients in the unit, severe ones on vents etc. She brought home a few devices, pulse ox, couple of other things.

End of day, inasked my wife, 1-dead, where was I compared to vent patients, 'solid 8'.

She notes though, patients get worse when admitted, they lose hope and tank, her reasoning for not taking me in.

Here's the 'more on this later':
She works at the largest hospital in the state (minus the state research hospital/school). A, it was here before 2020, fall 2019. B, the increase from holidays never came to fruition. C, the same people who are hit hard from flu, were the same for this. D, the psychological aspect is worsens symptoms more severely than the condition itself.

We dont do for the flu, the cold, anything, what we do for covid. The power the .gov gained through it wont cease. Like the flu, the cold, shots and herd immunity will only ever have minimal long term impacts. The closures did nothing. 0. Statistically. From the least closures to the most forceful changed nothing.

Be a sheep of getting a vaccine, be a sheep of not getting one, it will have minimal long term impact. Sadly, yes, people will die, but far more damage has come and will arrive than the resulting death count from the virus itself.

Here's a graph i 'made' (copy/paste) to prove the uselessness on closures.

i should explain the graph as i screenshotted it on the computer after I made it on google sheets, then saved it later onto my phone, so thats the explanation for the blurry nature maybe?

but the graph is states restriction implementation through time, ranked from least to most, top to bottom. the numbers beside the chart are total deaths, either to the month before or after the graphs deadline, and deaths per million. then highlighted as halfs, quarters and averages for each. reds and greens representing over (red)/under (green) the average deaths per milliong

Health authorities in Denmark, Norway and Iceland on Thursday suspended the use of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine after reports of blood clots among some people who had received the inoculation.

The Danish Health Authority on Thursday halted the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine for 14 days.

It follows reports of "serious cases of blood clots among vaccinated people," a statement read.

However, the authority stopped short of saying there was a direct link between the vaccine and the blood clots, "at the time being."

"It is currently not possible to conclude whether there is a link. We are acting early, it needs to be thoroughly investigated," Danish Health Minister Magnus Heunicke said on Twitter.

Polly Roy, a virologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, told DW that she believes the clots were, however, "probably not due to the vaccine itself."

"Maybe they have some underlying problem," said Roy.

Oh, it's probably nothing... you know... just a passing thing that these people all have in common.... an underlying problem.... just get the shot. SO WHAT IF A FEW PEOPLE DIE FROM IT IF IT SAVES AT LEAST ONE LIFE!

The vaccine prevents the virus from getting a foothold in your body and destroying your lungs. It does not 'kill' the virus. If inhaled and then exhaled you still transmit it.

How does the immune system react to foreign objects, specifically?

does it kill the object or does it allow the object to take residence but just not allow it to interact with its neighbors?

The Pfizer COVID vaccine works by introducing messenger RNA that makes the COVID virus create a protein that the body can detect so your immune system can respond. So it basically is preventing the virus from causing you harm but it is not killing the virus as you would a wasp with brake cleaner.

It is a complex mechanism overall, so suggest you Google it if you are interested. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines work similarly, the difference being that the Moderna does not require as frigid a temperature for storage. The other COVID vaccines each work differently.
 
I had the Rona, 4 days of sweating and coughing when I talked. I used the rest of my off time to catch up on chores. I'm also not getting the shots

You’re saying the immune system doesn’t kill the foreign body...

That’s not how the immune system works. It’s not letting the virus take residence and just putting behavior rules around it...

the immune systems entire Job is to kill invaders.
