It's bullshit and Trump agreed to it because he is a moron that is throwing away this race.

  2. American Families
  3. Race in America
  4. Climate Change
  5. National Security
  6. Leadership
Topics 2 and 6 are softballs for the candidates to appeal to whoever is already voting for them. I mean 'Leadership'? Really? 'American Families'? Pure bullshit.

Topics 1, 3, and 4 are 100% Biden wins.

Topic 5 is what the entire debate should be about, it will be rushed through, 15 minutes of pure horseshit from Biden and the Moderator saying Orange Man Bad.

Trump agreed to this horseshit because it energizes his base against the Biased Media. Problem is, we're already at max rage over this, and instead moderates are going to see Trump talk about dumping coal klinkers in their backyards and murdering blacks.

He's a fucking idiot and his debate strategy is pure shit. Kuschner is fucking itup.

A Presidential Debate is a chance to see Nixon sweat on TV. That's it. Radio listeners thought Nixon had won the debate, he was a smarter, more energetic, and more experienced man than JFK hands down. But Kennedy looked good on TV.

The Presidential Debates are about who is stronger, smarter, and faster. Hell Lincoln would just wrestle them :laughing:

I don't have a problem educating you about the history of Presidential debates, because it might help out some others who are stuck listening to dishonest reporters talk about how not having a nice little High School Debate Team means it's a bad debate.

The debate format is thus:

Pose the question (which will be framed to hurt Trump of course).

2 minutes from one candidate. The other candidate will be muted.

2 minutes from the other candidate, the first candidate will be muted.

11 minutes of cross-talk, no mute button.

So there really isn't a 'mute' button, it will only be in use for the initial 2-minute response, then 11 minutes of either Trump looking like a meanie, or Biden rambling on about Cornpop and his leg hair.

See post above. Trump will be muted the entire 2 minutes that Biden is talking on the initial question, and vice versa. Then 11 minutes no mute (but probably the moderator entering the debate on Biden's side.)

I just missed the post above mine. But I had heard that the mod would still be able to mute during the 11 mins if things become dicey or T rump brings up the hunter stuff...
 
This election is Trump's to lose. If he loses all he needs to do for an answer is to look in a mirror.

I am entertained by Politics, but what you meant to say was I want a spectacle. I don't. I want a mean debate to see what each candidate does under pressure. Trump saying "you'd be in jail" is very good debate material and very illuminating about both candidates.

I voted for Trump to break the system of bullshit and he has at least obliged on that.

Further reminder that the JQ Adams v Andrew Jackson POTUS race makes 2020 look like two housecats debating whether tuna fish is a tasty snack. Adams accused Jackson of murder, and Jackson accused Adams of being a pimp. A pimp.

The entire idea that 'oh muh politics used to be civil' is a complete fallacy. The John Adams/Thomas Jefferson presidential race was similarly dirty.

first debate, he said nearly verbatim what Wallace asked him to say, still labeled a bigot

Aren't you the one that cries when the orange man is mean? You know, not presidential? It sounds like you know what being presidential really means but you choose to ignore it except when it comes to Trump. I would actually appreciate another aggressive slapfight. Had the first debate been twice as long, someone might have gone to blows. These 2 jokers make for a perfect drag down all out brawl. That's how they played it initially, let em go at it again. Someone has to triumph from the playground antics... eventually.
