It's not just the house parties, it's all the people blatantly disregarding any good practices for reducing the spread of this virus. I want this shit to be over with, every day people like this get together is another day (or more) I'm stuck at home waiting for it to all be over (my wife is doing chemo right now, high risk, so no choice on my part). You talk like they're stopping sanitation everywhere, let's face it, people won't get together at a house to party if there's no power/water, so it's a non issue, there won't be anyone lacking sanitation when they don't go to these places.

The rangers at Fort Benning (sp) all got Quarantined after one recruit tested positive. After 14 days of military enforced quarantine and masks they were tested again and the remaining were clear. Most everyone in my town that has been recently testes for the antibodies tested positive. I live in a very elderly town with the average age above 65 and at least 20% of the population with home care hospice multiple times a week. Nobody died. Most of us got a bad cold back in January/February timeframe, lasted about 2 weeks (slight fever for some and shortness of breath. My wife and kids had a fever, I barely had a runny nose but have a very strong immune system.

Guberner Inslee conveniently made the state wide mask law that expires the day after the November election. There is absolutely no political motivation there, /sarcasm, and then is on camera many many times without a mask and getting a text then panicking digging for a mask in his pockets for optics.

Well let's look at some other numbers per capita (1M)
US Testing Rate: 190,337
US Case Rate: 15,155
US Death Rate: 491

Canada Testing Rate: 113,109 (59% of US Rate)
Canada Case Rate: 3,135 (20% of US Rate)
Canada Death Rate: 237 (48% of US Rate)

So sure our testing rate is a little more than half of yours but our case rate is one fifth of yours. So even if we tested twice as many people (so we'd have a higher testing rate) and let's assume it scaled linearly, we'd still have a case rate of less than half of yours.

And sadly I think even a lot of Canadians are doing a shitty job at following the rules, but compared to the US, we're gold...and what that shows is that following the rules leads to FAR less cases of the virus and far less deaths. We're also likely to return to normal a lot sooner than the US drawn out political bullshit.

Since we are sharing stories:
Since this all started, I've been working 80 to 100 hours a week. Typically in shared work trucks, semis, and heavy equipment. Also took a road trip crammed into a minivan with 4 other peopel through Illinois, Iowa (which was a Hotspot at the time), and Nebraska. I don't wear a mask and while at work its next to impossible to wash my hands. While working in the field, fast food and gas station food and drinks were staples.

Oh, and I had to use a porta potty with a boarded up glory hole at a fertilizer plant outside of cincinatti....5 times. I doubt it had been sanitized....and heavy usage of the porta pisser was obvious.

I can understand how someone who has been cooped up since this shit started would be irrationally fearful. Thats ok.

But to use that fear to reinforce tyranny? Man....thats some dystopian shit youre supporting, dude.

None. Dont care if I have it or if a have had it. Its a non issue around these parts.

If I haven't had it, then it's not nearly as virulent or deadly as what we were led to belive, so it warrants little concern from me, I have life to live and am comfortable with the life I have led. If Im wrong and get taken out by the cornvirus, well, I had a good run.


If I have had it or if I do have it, then all my coworkers and family and everyone I interact with on a regular basis (which I would ballpark at around 80 people, with regularly defined as seeing them at least twice a week) are just as lucky as me....which according the the official (inflated) numbers, is statistically impossible.

This situation is kind of tricky because the water and power is provided by a Municipality (LADWP) as opposed to a public utility say like PG&E.

However, if one is current on their utility payments; there is no court that would support LADWP shutting off those services for other than non payment. Even the non payment clause is currently suspended by all the utilities in California during this pandemic; with Gov Gavin's approval....

LADWP can suck balls....

My grandmother is in a nursing home with a brain tumor and stage 4 small cell lung cancer. I typically see her at least once a week.

My mother is in her 60's, diabetic, high blood pressure, morbidly obese, and gets pneumonia very easily.

My father is in his 60's. Morbidly obese, high blood pressure, and insulin dependent diabetic.

I see my parents prob twice a week. Eat meals together, etc.

The old man that runs the farm is in his 70's and has severe pulmonary issues from years of breathing in grain dust. Usually around him 3 to 5 times a week, for at least a few hours.

Our parts courier is in his 80's. Pretty cool cat, drives a minivan and doesn't give a fuck. Has a wife at home receiving hospice care. Usually around him 8 to 10 times a week for about 30 minutes a whack.

These are just the oldies in MY social circle. I'm sure my co workers know plenty of other old people. They are all still alive and kicking. Most don't wear masks either.

so what emotional misdirection outburst are you going to use next?

I cant speek for other states but in Washington if you test positive for Covid then they constantly test you until your clear. Average is 8-10 times. Each positive test is a new case somehow even though its the same person. Washington was also classifying anyone who died and tested positive for covid as a covid death, including MVC and GSW. So if you got shot and died but we’re asymptotic you died of covid... Sorry if I dont believe the numbers our state is putting out. We have lots of friends in the medical community mostly in Washington now but some in NY and Georgia as well and they are seeing the same fucking thing. Its a scam to inflate the numbers. The reason is the only thing left unknown.

Well, I hope your luck continues but I'll choose not to test my luck.

Clearly you guys have made up your minds that this pandemic is a big nothing...which relative to other causes of death is entirely right, you're not very likely to die from this. The problem is, it's yet another risk of death, it will take lives until it's dealt with...I think we should all just be thankful it's nothing as serious as measles or polio or ebola. I'd really like it all to be over with and without a vaccine, the fastest way would be if everyone stayed the fuck home for a couple weeks and let it burn out, there's no arguing that.

Please, inform me on how they work...if we tested more, our percentages of deaths versus cases would be lower too. The amount of people who die from covid relative to our population is less, that is ultimately the death rate.

I'm glad you're done.

This scare tactic has let us see who is so afraid of dying they are scared to live. Everybody dies, that and taxes are about the only guarantees in life. I should have died 2 times already, diet bike & atv related. And I have Lyme disease, am I supposed to hide until our trustworth government says its safe? After all they also pushed murder hornets and in Florida meth-gators.

its called Neuro Linguistics Programming. Someone on here brought it up a while ago and if you read up on it, it becomes plain as day whats happening. Also its very ironic that we have a pandemic or massive virus outbreak every 2 years, shockingly on election years. Keep people distracted while they do as they will.

NLP is overblown like all such models. Persuasion by language is as old as language itself, quite literally. I've had the chance to be involved in some persuasive marketing, and while different Degreed specialists will work from a model like NLP, in the end all commercial and political literature is chosen on a case-by-case basis.

There really isn't a system to it. The best minds on earth are trying to make it so with literal AI (your sportsball articles are likely AI written), but in the end, it always takes a human's touch.

I'm very glad you're aware of it though. Because the methods are becoming ever more sophisticated and insidious.

You do realize that many of the deaths that have been reported as covid...was not. Maybe up to half or more.
