PONTOTOC COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - A Pontotoc County teacher was sentenced to more than five years in prison for sex abuse crimes.
Erin Fixico-Mitchell, 33, of Ada pleaded guilty to three counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in Indian Country.
According to attorneys, Mitchell sexually abused a student between September and November of 2015 while she was a teacher and coach at Ada High School, and after leaving Ada to teach and coach at Byng High School, she sexually abused another student between June and September of 2021.
After her prison sentence, she will have a 10 year term of supervised release.
