The 42s were a bit more.
Ouch....I think I'm going down to 40s or even 37s on my next vehicle, lol.$768 per 42" SXII sticky.
LOL.....I hope so. Otherwise Sean and I just bought DOT tires for sticky $$.
The DOT 42" SX2 is listed as 6/6 ply 30psi?LOL.....
Yeah, seem legit compared to the sticky Reds/43s I've handled. I had 356 comp compound OG Maxxis Creepies....they seemed quite a bit stiffer than either of those or these sticky SXIIs.
***EDIT****they do say "not for highway service" and "competition use only". What concerns me is that unlike the regular compound that is C range....these are E. Uggh.....my rig is fairly light....I may be running these flat to get them to flex at all.
30 psi is the max allowable....so they are the same pressure rating as the DOT compound in this size. Wondering if the E range 10 ply rating is the tread (not the sidewall) as is similar in the 40x13.5-17 SXII DOTs which are 10 tread and 4 sidewall.
Yeah, the DOT 42" SXII is listed as 6/6 and 30 psi. These 42" SXII stickies say E range, 10 ply and 30 PSI max on the sidewall. The DOT 42" SX2 is listed as 6/6 ply 30psi?
The 40s are listed as 10/4 ply 65psi.
I dont see the load range listed but the max load is way higher for the DOT 40s. Sticky versions are a whole new game so who knows...
Yeah....not worried about it too much really....it is what it is now. They're bought and paid for, lol. I knew it was a gamble. Oh...they're made in Thailand (hopefully near Bangkok, lol) JFYI.They could be doing weird stuff with the mold/compounds. I wouldn't worry about it at this point. You'll be one of the first to know it sounds like...lol
I gotta see the sidewall on these sticky SX2’s, how do you know they’re soft compound other than something a salesperson said on the phone?Yeah....not worried about it too much really....it is what it is now. Not sure what would satisfy you beyond what I've already posted. I haven't bought the durometer gauge yet so I can't give you a quantitative number at the moment. These were build 41st week of 2022 according to the date code on the sidewall.I gotta see the sidewall on these sticky SX2’s, how do you know they’re soft compound other than something a salesperson said on the phone?
I’ve got a set of 40” SX2’s that came this morning with a build date of mid-2022 and were produced in Thailand ..they seem super soft compared to my last TSL’s. I bought the 40’s for my son and a set of 42’s for me but I haven’t got a shipping confirmation on the 42’s and it’s not giving me a good feeling.
Don‘t competition Compound tires from Interco have “not for highway use” cast in the sidewall? I’m not trying to say you’re wrong , I’m actually hoping your right .Not sure what would satisfy you beyond what I've already posted. Please re-read...that's exactly what I wrote in post #41...along with a lot of other pertinent info....you may have simply read my comment before the edit, though I did it within a few minutes of the original posting.Don‘t competition Compound tires from Interco have “not for highway use” cast in the sidewall? I was just checking on this thread in anticipation of a duro reading and bam there it is. Something else I find funny is that the same person from Interco who told me the SX2 sticky doesn’t exist emailed me again yesterday with prices for 40&42” SX2 sticky’s..lol! It sure seems the word has gotten out !JFYI....Durometer (Shore A scale) is 41 on these stickies. As a comparison, a fairly new take off BFG all terrain off my wife's JLUR is 65.
The price I was told was $922 for 42” and around $600 for 40”..seems like a big price jump for 2”! They also sound like the big objective is to get the price down which is good thing for sure.Sean I am definitely interested in some good height measurements one you get them mounted on wheels with some air in them. Sub $800 for a 42-43" sticky is actually a good price these days if it is somewhat close to 42".
