What's new

Sturgis, 250,000 ,no masks

. . . you do not have the 'right' to not wear a mask where the mask order is in place . . ..

Disagree. I consider the mask order and, more importantly, the lockdowns to be inappropriate and possibly illegal.

This virus is not that much more special than the last 100 seasonal viruses that rolled through, and we are no more special than past generations that manned the fuck up & took care of business even though there were micro-snifflecritters in the air. Wash your hands, cover your coughs (common sense shit) and add a mask if you feel it's prudent - not because .gov mandates it.

Don't get me wrong - I wear a mask at work when near anyone - to keep the place open and keep the employees employed.
However, I am honest about my disagreement with the pseudo-laws (their purpose, appropriateness, and legality).

The presumption by government on this subject that "the people can't take care of themselves, so we must . . ." should be met by a firm "fuck no, GTFO of people's lives" 10X/10. This is a fucked up precedent that I guaran-goddamn-tee our elected "leaders" will only wish to reinforce and expand. California Pincess Gavin Nuisance is killing more people with the lockdowns than the 'rona would have.

I've been out in the world doing mostly normal shit during "these uncertain times" and it kills me to see the small businesses (that make up the texture and fabric of local communities) die. If you want WalMart, Amazon, and Domino's Contactless Curbside Delivery - that's what will be left. Why should the actual salt-of-the earth entrepreneurs be put at such an irrational disadvantage? Fuck that, and fuck you.

This "virus" is nothing more than a mental disorder that began and will end on social media (facebook). It's just a giant way of all the pussies being the center of their own universe, collectively. It's really fucking sad how fast it all came about. Humanity and society is doomed.

I don't disagree with your thoughts on this at all.

I'm saying that the government absolutely has the right, with precedent as long as Civilization has existed, to tell people how to act during an epidemic.

Will 'they' use this to expand their power? No doubt they will.

As I've said in the Mask thread, this is a terrible hill to die on. Just wear the mask and continue to oppose it, which it sounds like you are.

Is it an epidemic or pandemic? Pick which one and then define it. There lies the problem, moving targets and all.

The gov't is what we make it and define it. The emergency powers are wearing thin and wearing off. 3 months, most are OK. 6 months, nope, not happening. Just further eroding credibility and faith our "leaders' :lmao:

They are all going to get the Rona and die.......... Unless

They turn it into a BLM protest on the last day so the Rona wouldn't spread.

Isn't that how this virus works?

:lmao:

God Damn straight

Bull shit, this is not the black plague and massive numbers of people aren't dying. Flattening the curve was what was touted, not destroying life as we know it.

Ok well, you can lodge your opinion if you'd like. It doesn't change Government's long, long-standing authority to exercise powers to prevent disease.

Personally, I think it's a good thing that Conservatives are practicing Civil Disobedience. At least there's that.

People over 40 seem to be getting fed up with it, but the under 40 crowd are seeming to embrace it. Also, we’re pumping so much Government money to the people, They are managing to stay fat, dumb lazy, And content.

37 here and was over it before it began. Seems like the older folks are embracing masks, dont know if for health, mandate, or just hoping it will go away faster. Younger people seem to go both ways, some wont wear a mask for anything and some will mask up and hide at home.

I just got home the other night from Sturgis. 250k? Yeah, right! They downplayed the estimate BIG TIME! Every venue, street, intersection, bathroom, canyon, etc was FULL. I went with the old lady's dad, and he has gone the last 21 years straight... he said he'd never seen it this full, not even during the 75th in 2015. Speaking with different employees at venues, we found that a lot of them had to be resupplied on Tuesday morning before opening up, as they ran through all the beer and liquor they had ordered for the entire event in only 3 nights. When coming over a rise on 14A, I saw bikes 2-wide as far as the eye could see in front of me and behind me in both directions.

Even Devil's Tower was full.

Here's the deal: The city's old folks (most of the residents) didn't want the rally this year out of fear. The council learned through the internet that everyone was coming anyway, whether the rally was being held or not. They decided to hold the rally, enact some guidelines, reduce the number of vendors on main street, install a bunch of hand sanitizer stations, and downplay the event (no advertising, emphasizing a number about half the normal attendance). That's where the 250k came from, as they were initially expecting over 500k to show up.

In reality, there were likely upwards of 750K in attendance. The only masks I saw were a few tourist families passing through from nanny states... less than a dozen total all week.

Those Antifa fucks have lawyers?

I'm referring to the middle manager boomer harley owner larping as a badass and instantly shitting his pants when some antifa dudes start kicking thier asses, and calling their lawyer to figure out who they can sue in retaliation.

Definately the middle child of generations! Gen x has gotten screwed the most. The boomer fucks wont retire because they are retarded with money and cant do anything but work, and the millenials are moving up the corporate ladder and being promoted over the Xers. Shitty situation!!

Millenials are the product of the boomers shitty ideologies, policies and programs and the boomers cant cope with that, hence the hatred.

yea I’ve posted pretty much the same thing in this thread, it’s definitely at least 500k. Maybe more than the 75th but I don’t think so. Been here since Friday and leaving after I get a bite to eat in Custer, about a 30 minute wait so far. I’ve seen about 30 masks all week:laughing:
