That is a C8 Stingray on the left, def not a 'supercar'Same lap times. Which one is the super car?

A little over a year ago I followed the GM team via LinkedIn.Pagani and Koenigsegg are low production super car makers. They sell single digit numbers of their top line cars.
I also don’t get the hate for the Vette. Especially not the new Vette.

The chick in that pic, didn’t look overly impressed Considering you could combine the cost of both of those cars, multiply it times 10 and still not touch the cost of a handful of other cars there that day, she wasn’t going to be impressed by those at allThe one getting the female attention of course.
My buddy is the senior calibrater on gas engines at GM, he did all the tuning and certification on the engine in this Corvette, he said he's been working on it for the last 2-1/2 years. Pretty much any GM gas engine has his finger prints on tuning.
I don't get the hate for America's first Supercar.
That is the thing with 'Supercar', it is not a clear cut easy to define thing as you can see just from this thread. The vast majority of people consider the Z06 and ZR1 Corvette to be a Super Car. If you feel otherwise, you are in the minority. Opinions are like assholes though, everyone's got one.
I consider it (loosely) a super car because the lambo on the right is one and both in stock form will run similar lap times at any given track. That is a C8 Stingray on the left, def not a 'supercar'
Damn beat me to it I was coming here to say that. Also congrats to GM for doing what they do best.... Losing to ford and coming in second in the race to build an american supercar...... Or is it third if ford beats you to the punch twice?LOL. this is America's first supercar.

beat me to it. I was going to say something similar about "we now know who to kick in the taint for afm".tell him thanks for the sweet windowed block at 6,000 miles on a V8 truck.
Like the tuning caused your problem. I'll bet you have a new engine and the same calibration running it. Not many people understand what goes into a calibration.tell him thanks for the sweet windowed block at 6,000 miles on a V8 truck.
Combustion engineer? My buddy is the senior calibrater on gas engines at GM, he did all the tuning and certification on the engine in this Corvette, he said he's been working on it for the last 2-1/2 years. Pretty much any GM gas engine has his finger prints on tuning.
LOL. this is America's first supercar.
so your saying its GMs vastly inferior manufacturing, components, parts and assembly that is to blame and not the calibration?Like the tuning caused your problem. I'll bet you have a new engine and the same calibration running it. Not many people understand what goes into a calibration.
But could you really buy one from a dealer
So every engine blew up, got yaso your saying its GMs vastly inferior manufacturing, components, parts and assembly that is to blame and not the calibration?
i hear you loud and clear.
Just because you hate corvettes doesn't make the new z06 any less a supercar. The performance is staggering.
So . . . neither car in that photo, got itThe one getting the female attention of course.
1. That thing is ugly. Really ugly. The Calloway Sledgehammer C4 vette was going 255mph back in 1988. 233mph in a brand new vette, meh. Going slower 36 years later is not all that impressive considering all the technology that has come out since then.
Oh, wait - you wanna' go fast around corners also? The zr1 seems like a competent track car. With mid engine, modern suspension and brakes, I know which one I'd take in the twisties.
1. That thing is ugly. Really ugly.
2. Top speed is a function of gearing and horsepower. Sling a higher r&p in the new vette, and itd go 275. But then the tradeoff is acceleration. The sledgehammer appears to be a phallic replacement device for rich old dudes. The zr1 seems like a competent track car. With mid engine, modern suspension and brakes, I know which one I'd take in the twisties.
3. I how forgotten how ass ugly c4 vettes are. They are pretty much the reason I don't like vettes.
