Spinoff: Worst Concert You Have Ever Been To?

A George Jones no show was pretty bad.

Gary Allan after his wife committed suicide.

Back in the mid 2000s Robert Earl Keen had a Texas music uprising festival in Corpus. He was so drunk he could barely sing at that, but so were a few of the other guys.

Went to a concert at the white river amphitheater many years ago. Saliva and Aerosmith opening for kiss. Saliva was really good, Aerosmith was pretty solid but kiss was fucking abysmal. We were 3/4 up the center and I could see all those old fucks sweating like 400 lb whores in a phoenix drought and out of breath. The pyrotechnics were far better than the noise coming from the speakers.

Pearl Jam in '99 was amazing, but Sonic Youth opened for them and gave the single worst musical performance I've ever seen and I'm including elementary kids trying to play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on fucking plastic recorders in that.

Phil Leah and Friends in Vail with Warren Haynes on guitar. Was five great musicians playing five different songs "jamming". Sounded like Jerry's kids first day of band practice. All these smelly hippies loosing there shit saying how great it was. Made it about ten minutes and shagged ass.

David allen Coe .Played a bunch of meddles of his songs. Fuck him.

Went to KBPI birthday bash to see Clutch. Stuck around and tried to watch Offspring. What a fucking joke.

Toby Keith. :barf:

I took my daughter to see him years ago. We left halfway through. He was absolutely terrible.

We’ve seen Miranda Lambert twice. The second time she was completely shit hammered and the show was painful to watch.

Could name several but - off the top of my head...

Stu Hamm at Stanford, full awn shit band, free tix.

Guns N Roses at Arco arena. Drove up to see Brian May (free backstage tix) and watched Axel and everyone leave the stage before the 3rd song got underway. It was the infamous "bitch about metallica" tour, where the guns n roses bassist got smacked in the head with a flying beer bottle. :lmao: I wish it hit Axel but i'm actually pleased I didn't spend the next hour(s) listening to that fuckstart sing. Beat95yj was there. :rasta:

Type O Negative and Pantera maybe 1996? Shreveport, the old Hirsch Colosseum. Some asshole decided there needed to be 30 rows of metal folding chairs on the floor and would not budge on the matter. Show got canceled 5 minutes before the gates were supposed to open. Full on riot in the parking lot, cars burned, some guy punched a police horse, yadda yadda. We saw ourselves the next day on MTV News running for our lives.

Sounds like a theme of David Allen Coe sucks in concert. :lmao:

My worst was Bob Dylan. Saw Willie Nelson and mellencamp open for him and he was the headliner. It was so bad I wanted to leave after about three songs but my wife made me stay. Bob Dylan was by far the worst live I’ve ever seen or heard, fuck that guy.

Mine was either the Melvins opening up for White Zombie, the Ramones opening up for White Zombie or the Metallica black album tour where they bored the piss out of you with a 2 hour movie before the show.

Two Zombie related shows come to mind. . . 1993-ish at the State Theater in Detroit, Nudeswirl, ChemLab, and White Zombie as the headliner. ChemLab was so god f'ing awful the only way they could get the crowd moving was by yelling "White Zombie" through their entire set. Their set served as a White Zombie hype band with really shitty music.

Late '90s Rob Zombie opened for Korn. Zombie put on an excellent show. Then came the main act. Korn opened with Blind which was probably the best opening concert song I can recall. The opening really built energy in the arena and the "Are you ready" call set the audience on kill. About halfway through blind the energy was done, the show was sloppy, and we bailed after 2-3 songs. Thankfully the tickets were free.

Blue October

Jesus that guy got fucking weird towards the end.

Black label society. Only the first 5 minutes of a 1 hour guitar solo is cool and zak wylde is a douche.

Dixon May Fair, Merle Haggard and Trace Adkins, probably around 2011. It should have been awesome. It was so windy we couldn’t even hear the singers. We had been on the lake all day and were sunburnt. That made the wind feel almost invariably cold.

Tool in Reno 2007ish. They should have canceled or post pone the show. This is when the drummer had hurt his bicep. They played 8-9 songs in 3 hours. They must’ve been hurting for money cause they didn’t have an effects crew. The guitarist would bang her guitar with the distortion maxed out and sling it behind her while spending 10-15 on her laptop moving lights and changing the back ground between songs. To top it off, it was seated only, it was 80-100$ per seat for one band. I’ll never watch tool live again and that milking.

Honestly this story coming from you doesnt shock me.

I know ive already replied to this thread but i had forgotten about seeing marilyn manson. he opened for slipknot and it was just so crushing, listening to him when i was younger he was just a tired old man now. i think he might have been sitting down behind his little podium. i dont know I had built it up in my head and it was just a emo dude sitting there in his emo gear singing his old emo songs trying to get hip and cool...and the time had past so long ago

April 3rd, 1993 :smokin:

You can be honest with us, you only punched that horse because your “I don’t give a fuck about you” approach didn’t work:flipoff2:

Nah, I was super extra dumb back then but I didn't fuck with crowds. It went from 10k people standing around kinda grumpy, to everything being on fire and everyone getting their ass beat in what seemed like a couple of seconds.

I may have elbowed a few noses on the way to the truck, but it was only to help clear a path for my buddy Big Andy who was out of breath and about to black out after running 20 feet. :flipoff2:

:lmao: jolly good show

we left during the 2nd song , people were throwing chairs on stage , they sucked
especially seeing as i saw them many times before
this show only original member was the drummer
on a good note Nazareth was xlnt , they stole the show

Pink Floyd on their Division Bell tour 1994. It was at Mile High Stadium and, along with the crappy nose-bleed seats I had, the whole show just seemed very underwhelming and low energy.

Brantley Gilbert. Luke Combs opened before anyone knew who he was and did an awesome acoustic set. Brantley came out and it was honestly a really good show. High energy. Good atmosphere. About 20 minutes in he bragged that he just found out that his wife surprised him by showing. Maybe 10 minutes after that he said thanks for coming, goodnight, and left the stage. No encore. Nothing. Guess he really wanted to see his old lady. Everybody was pissed. Paid too much money for a 30 minute show.

Also, Cadillac Three. They literally came to stage 2 hours late. And had their music so loud and distorted that you couldn’t hear a word they sang.

I was off-stage when that happened, standing around with a few other stagehands, we just looked at each other like, "Score! We get to go home early." His road crew was not amused, they knew they had to put up that miserable fucker for the rest of the tour.
