Spinoff: are you drug tested regularly or tested when hired or not at all?

Theoretically we fall under NASCAR and their greater legal umbrella.

The drug policy as written in the rule book is longer than the entire open class rule book at pikes peak:eek:
Apparently IMSA management made it clear that if crew licensing depended on clean testing there would not be a series.
Compromise is - screw up you may get tested.

I don’t think anyone wants to test the boundaries - live in a state where recreational is legal, do something stupid at work a week later, test, pop hit, then???

I have quite a lot I could relate but this ain’t the Park and we know that ain’t even safe for stories anymore. Sadly.

Had a dry waller show up at a job I was managing. Saw him light up a spliff and finish it before strolling in 5 minutes later.

Sold shrooms to my trim guys the first afternoon

Best dry wall dude ever.

Boss came into the office and said we where gonna start drug testing, I told him ALRIGHT! Which ones are we testing?
 
I got tested to work on commercial FAA Part 121&135 aircraft. I couldn't touch the commercial stuff until my test came back, but general aviation was ok. Later at a big maintenance operation, I got tested initially, and it seemed like after every freaking 3-day weekend. I've never really partook so it seemed like I was the only one getting tested "randomly." It was annoying but I got paid to take a walk across the street so it was kind-of a break from pounding rivets.

Got a cut in Insurance :lmao:And opening the door cost over a mil in Insurance so anything that could help they did.
 
I do IT stuff for the California state government(yes, yes, let the hate flow through you), never been drug tested in my 19 years of working here.

I just assume that all people hanging sheet and doing roofs are on drugs.

No, but thats by design because:smokin:

.gov was the only job i had that tested and thats only because we had to have cdls

Bob the stucco guy was doing a 3 story rotten deck repair job for us after we did all the structural. Had to tell him he and his crew couldn't be burning one down on a tenant's deck.
2 days later the foreman was walking his dog at lunch and finds Bob and his crew around the block with the truck hot boxed. He knocks on the window and Bob rolls it down; "Hey Adam, you in?"
"What the fuck Bob, I told you not at work!"
"No Adam, you said not on the jobsite!"

One place driving truck was test on hire, after an accident and random. I got tested random once and the terminal manager comes to me and asks if we can talk about my random. I say sure and he asks if I would pass it every time and I tell him for sure.

So he says we have to do 4 randoms a month BUT it doesn't say it can't be the same guy every time and you know if we hit everyone here we're gonna be firing guys left and right, so you up for helping me out?

I told him my pee was pretty valuable to me and I figured it might bring $100 if I sold it to the dirty guys, so are YOU up for helping me out?

After that conversation I would get a plain white envelope from him once a month with 3 or 4 nice crisp hundys in it.:laughing:

Now I drive a skool bus, you would figure there's a strict drug policy for sure right?

Nope not a dang thing but god help you if you violate the environmental policy by idling the engine too long. :homer:
 
I used to always be the guy called for random`s at my last two employers, it was a completely random sample pool names were pulled out of but for some reason I was always one of the two called for dot randoms.

last place me and the dispatcher suspected this doofus they hired of being back on drugs, he was a younger guy hired to drive who had spent several years in prison on drug charges, we tell the boss, for some reason me and dispatcher get pulled for randoms the next day, a couple weeks later dipshit destroys trailer and heavily damages truck trying to turn around in a farmer`s driveway. :homer:
 
Worked for 9 years in the oilfield, got a lot of randoms. Current employer is pre employment, if you get hurt or hurt someone, and property damage over $1500. Hopefully nobody pops on a hurt or a property damage because randoms will come right after that.
 
work oilfield, test at hire, on incident and random. they stopped doing the randoms for a while, cause people figured out you can smoke some pot a couple days before your shift and thc would show in your piss test. they would fly you home and wait on the saliva test results. when they finally got those results back they would be clean and you'd have a week off with full pay.

now they only do saliva tests on site
 
I've never had a job with ongoing testing. Preemployment if anything.
 
Last drug test I had to take to get hired was the dealership in 2011 and even then it was only a mouth swab and they flat out told you you only had to pass it once to get hired. They'd tell people they didn't care after that as long as it wasn't an at work issue. We'd still have people interview and fail even given multiple chances weeks apart.

Current company it wasn't in the handbook and never came up until I'd been here almost a year. Technically fireable, but I think that's just kept as a convenient excuse to get rid of people if needed. Highly doubt it would ever be an issue for me if it came up.

I don't even like pot, but if my job did this I'd start using it in this manner just to troll them.

Yep. Only one piss test my whole life, and funnily enough it was an after school job I had in high school. I was working as a part time computer lab guy at a local elementary school and they made me pee in a cup before I was hired.
 
Randoms, DOT mandates it.

No tolerance. Fail and you're done and blacklisted, so would you like fries with that?
I've never done the drugs. Might have a barley pop or two once and a while at home, 8+ hrs before considering driving.
12 pack lasts me 5-6 months.

"Ooooo, you're no fun"...

Oh well, I'm fine being me.

thats exactly what happened :lmao:

then i found out how much BS was involved, got picked up and driven in for a "random" only for my boss to tell me my name was pulled a few weeks back, but with people on holidays they never sent me because if i was sent home there was not enough people on site to run the plant :shaking:

Hence why unless you were a complete fuckup in my business... you could piss hot and it didn't matter. Also why the office and warehouse didn't get tested
