Speaking of internet censorship

Feexerded.

Humans in the past and currently in most 3rd world shitholes have polluted on a scale we here in the western world have never thought of.

Until China and India clean up their act the rest of the developed world could be 0 emissions and it wouldn't change shit.

Far from it, but we can definitely measure light output from the sun.

Not gonna look this one up huh? What do you think is the main indicator for a "solar maximum"? Might want to start there. As an IT person, I thought you'd be more aware of the actual challenges that could arise from a solar maximum.

See my response to rockota. The terms solar minimum and solar maximum doesn't have a lot to do with heat coming off the sun.

The solar min/max are a red herring. They can't be ignored but what is much more important is fluctuations in the earths orbital path around the sun and the variations in axis tilt, also.

Sun is the biggest contributor to climate on earth. Followed distantly by volcanic activity/ plate tectonics, and then anything that humans could do

That's the thing that makes me question our ability to survive on other planets. Just a 23 degrees of tilt in the axis and we're sweating or freezing our balls of near the poles. How the heck could we ever deal with living on a planet that doesn't almost exactly mirror earth's orbit around a different star?

That's where the habitable zone comes into play. The area where a planet could have liquid water.

There's a lot of stars out there.

Add another 60* Fahrenheit to the average global temp and we're all fawked. Water is still liquid, but we wouldn't be able to survive long outside without support or even really grow outside with that sort of change. That's a very small range when you consider an average star system with planets orbiting in it.

Regardless of one's thoughts on supposed human caused climate change, volcanoes (both on land and undersea) only produce about 1% of the greenhouse gases produced by humans.

You mean now? Google mount Tambora. One eruption caused the "year without a summer". 1816. It's not all about greenhouse gas. Ash also comes into play to block warming sun radiation.

Someone should figure out a way to prevent the ash from blowing out of the volcano. Perhaps some sort of plug..

...you know, stick it right in the ash-hole. :flipoff2:

For what?

Ah. Op-Ed by Lamar Smith:

Nothing but pure witchery. We are at peak climate. Any change can only be negative. You dont want negatives, do you? Must... Maintain... Current... Climate...

I'll go against the grain here and welcome global warming. If in fact it's trending warmer, I am happy. Fuck winter.

I'm all for reducing pollution at every level except CO2. If CO2 is making the earth warmer, then dump it all. I think we should build factories that make CO2 and pump it into the atmosphere.

CO2 is a trailing factor. It's not a causation of anything. Pump all you want to, it's not causing temp increases

Methane is a more significant "greenhouse gas" and cattle flatulence was blamed for global warming.

I contribute regularly to the slaughter of those evil beasts and their upcycling into tasty meat :flipoff2:

based on what evidence?

it's all speculation.

Methane is 1.7 ppm in the earths atmosphere.

CO2 is 421 ppm and we should welcome it being twice that.

Water vapor is the most abundant "greenhouse gas". Let that sink in for a second.
What are we going to do? Ban warm water and anything that evaporates it? :lmao:
