I do think that the earth itself will be fine no matter what we do to it. But I like life, and I like humanity itself (not all humans).
I don't think humanity should fall back to the stone ages, which it will, and I doubt much of humanity will survive when the earth does that.

Communism fails because humans are assholes.

Sure we all want clean air an water and yes, we should be good stewards of our lands. With that however, the Earth has always gone through climate changes and always will. Its pretty arrogant to think "you" have some effect on that fact.

Modern humans have two choices when it comes to the Earth's ever changing. Adapt or perish. That is your two choices. No, nothing else. No...but, but, but, if we do this or that. Its going to change. It could be another ice age. The poles may reverse. It could be tropical....but whatever it is going to, it's going to happen, period.

We are talking about an aquarium where some kid is secretly feeding the fish at night.

I wonder if he realizes an early form was tried by the colonists on the Mayflower? One of the reasons they damn near starved to death was, why work when your going to get an equal share no matter how little you contribute. The first Thanksgiving was to celebrate paying off the creditors not the good harvest as taught in school, and they only did that by making everyone responsible for themselves not dependent an the state

I get a kick outta the climate change believers.

Climate change ends where the money begins.

Look at lithium mining. Nobody seems to give a fuck about that and the damage it’s doing to the environment.

Places like India literally dump their trash, shit, piss, etc into rivers/ocean and not a peep because there’s no money to be made.

The people promoting it buy beach front houses, even though “the ocean is rising”, fly massive jets around the country to go to dinner and have homes that damn near require their own power grid.

You’re a fool if you believe any of this bullshit.
 
Saying mankind could never change the climate seems just as utterly absurd as taxing carbon and buying lithium batteries from china will somehow restore the dodo. Humans clearly can have significant impact on nature - ozone layer, acid rain, mine runoff, near extinction of whale, impacts to fisheries, etc. You cannot deny that humans have caused the release of large amounts of CO2 and similar gasses that could impact atmospheric properties, just as it's equally impossibly to deny that we have cut large areas of forest, built cities, etc.

The key to me though is how much of a concern this really is, and if there's really a justified need for the abstract stupidity some expound. The green religion has as it's core tenet that climate chain will snowball instead of being stable - this is that part I have a hard time believing. To me, history suggests that the climate is fundamentally stable, and while reducing our collective impact is probably wise, the OMG we're all going to die folks have not proven their case to me.

Further, the collective absurdity of policy is an even bigger hang up. Saying you care about the globe and then moving pollution to china at significant expense is just plain stupid, and more than slightly hypocritical. Not to mention the obvious politicial and financial profiteering going on.

What I find most interesting is that climate change and green has all the marking of a fanatical religion.... yet the majority of the folks who leave and breath that religion find traditional religions absurd.
 
I would take the green movement more seriously, if they were actually going after gross polluter countries. Hell, if they even at least spoke out against gross polluter countries. But they don't. They focus all their rage on the relatively clean western nations.
