Songs that hit you in the feels

Same as above

Seems obvious these guys (especially the drummer ) wanted to play metal but they didn't have a metal singer so fuck it, let's just roll with what we've got to work with.

It's weird for me. I was never a fan of Blink 182 growing up despite them peaking when I was in HS. But I love them now simply because maybe more so than any other band they take me back to that time in my life.
Yeah, I listen to 80s-90s country, that I never really had interest in growing up because it takes me back.

This is an interesting one. This song reminds me of one of those random times in your life that for whatever reason you snap out of the fog of existence and realize that... fuck, man this is GREAT. I just remember me and my best friend were heading out to a bonfire kegger deep in the Pisgah NF in the Appalachians of western NC. A place we all called God's Country. Just riding shotgun with my best friend down an old dirt road, cranking good tunes, heading to a party thinking... damn, this is life. These are the moments.

The party was nothing great. I don't remember any specifics about it. But I remember that realization as we're hauling ass drifting around corners on a sketchy mountain dirt road windows down wind in our hair beers in hand and singing like idiots and I realized that this moment will stick with me as long as I live. Just had that buddy and his wife and kid over to the house for a cookout just a few days ago since he's home on leave.

I don't know what it is about this song... but instant trance. If I'm by myself it's a 4 minute mushroom trip (almost). It's dumb. The lyrics are dumb. The guitar riff is cool, and sounds like something I came up with in 11th grade. The fast part at the end gives me chillbumps and I have no idea why.

I've honestly cried listening to this song before and no fucking idea why. It's like 93k years ago I was killing a mastodon and heard Umbootoo playing this riff on a hollow stick flute and somehow remember it.

Luckily I still have my dad at 74 years old. Raised in the country and uses "a good county mile" saying all the time. This one might get played on a day I don't have him anymore.

I know we appreciate the same music. Listen to this obscure album. It's musically amazing.

Sit yourself in your shop and blare it.

Witchcraft Legend

Like a lot of live Dead it's a slow burn, but it might get to you if you stick with it

Similar to most here my age taste in music was 80s skate punk thrash metal. Growing up in the Bay Area the Dead were an institution that built upon the party scene and been to quite a few shows. Even then had overlooked them until a friend gave me a live recording of the Frost amp in 89 that I quite impressed by. Most people gripe about them how out of tune they were but below the surface they were masters at playing off the energy of the audience which is where they shined especially in the least expected quite nuanced parts. The dead incorporated a lot of different genres into their repritore and always had special guests whom they were extremely generous sharing the stage legends such as Branford Marsalis, Gary Duncan, Santana. Gerry had a knack of channeling old swampy blues to Chuck Berry. Then factor the song writing of Robert Hunter and there you have the feels.

I really like this song, but it sends shivers down my spine when I listen to it.

This one... you're going to laugh your ass off. I don't get it either. Hair metal that I used to make fun of as a kid. Something about this dudes voice gives me chillbumps. A Meme reminded me of this one
