So Oregon decriminalized heroin and meth

Ok, I've been reading back and forth. Pro's and Con's.
This it my take, and it's an across the board for a lot of things. The rich aren't impacted, they live where it may not affect them. The poor have nothing to take, so no accountability.

Me? I'm in the middle just plowing thru life, making my money, A squirrel trying to get a nut. So when jack ass meth head breaks into my shit in my middle America home. Not a bad neighborhood, but not the gated community riches.

And I crack this guy with a baseball bat stopping him while breaking into my shit in the driveway, guess who gets in trouble, not meth head, cause that poor soul has a problem, he needs help. It's me.

Now If meth head and all other thieves knew they were taking a bullet, or a skull crushing and drug to the curb like the rest of the trash? You bet I'm in. But that's not the case. They have more rights than me.

There needs to be some threat of consequences.

But hell, I've been wrong before..... :homer:

I love your optimism that the police will actively crack down on petty theft. Next will be no jail time for any theft under $1000.

California its catch and release anything under $950 prop 47.
This is a small clip.
  • Petty Theft. Proposition 47 added Penal Code section 490.2 to expressly define petty theft as “obtaining any property by theft where the value of the money, labor, real or personal property taken” does not exceed $950. This new definition of petty theft applies notwithstanding Section 487 “or any other provision of law defining grand theft.” (Pen. Code, § 490.2(a).) As such, the new definition of petty theft appears to apply regardless of how specific categories of property are treated under separate statutes. This new provision is not applicable to any theft that may be charged as an infraction “pursuant to any other provision of law.”

With a little luck maybe most of the Oregon worthless fucks will OD and solve their problems

Nope, we'll just get more worthless fucks imported to our state. Same thing happened after they legalized pot. Never had tents in Salem until they did that.

Congratulate drugs for winning the war on drugs

How many junkies do you know have the cash to finance a cross country move, or the mental capacity to plan that out? That’s cash they could be using to get high! It’s not going to be anywhere near the migration you think. Maybe some from bordering states, but inconsequential for the most part.

The problem with the legalization in Colorado was the politics the migrants brought with them. They turned a red state blue. They loved the freedom that was offered to them as far as pot, but whined and voted to strip away every other freedom they could. Weed users continue to be functional members of society. They can hold jobs, and own cars, and do the things normal people do. That’s why they were able to migrate. Heroin junkies are incapable of doing those things after the first couple of months of use.

States have been busted shipping their junkies (homeless) to another state. Now that cocaine is decriminalized I could see a few states providing a bus ticket to Washington for their resident coke heads when they're released from jail. Maybe Oklahoma starts busing them towards Montana by way of Colorado. Maybe some of them start to hitchhike and make it there themselves. People might even walk that direction. How else do homeless people get from Sandy Eggo to Washington?

this might be a good thing. Maybe all the junkies in CA will move north. Is there a bus fund we can pitch into?

This is where alot of you guys are failing to see the big picture.......

They made using the drugs legal, they didn't make them free. Were do you suppose these homeless addicts are going to get their money for the now legal drugs? By stealing your stuff and robbing you for your money, and potentially killing you to get it.

So unless these addicts get caught their first time trying to rob and steal shit for drug money and end up in jail, its just going to get worse and worse for the people that are being victimized by this new law.

Yay freedom! :homer:

drugs are expensive because they only exist in a black market.

we could literally spend 1% of the current budget of the war on drugs and give them all free drugs to OD with.

You don't think they're being sent here from other places first :flipoff2:

I don't know why they would move, most places you see the huge camps have basically made it legal to do anything they want.

This.

An 8ft truck bed full of China white heroin should cost about $300.

As I've said before, the first 5 years would be kinda rank. Just suffer through it- trust me. Later on you'll see the lowest drug addiction numbers ever witnessed in the US. Even the little kids growing up will all have a story about uncle Terry and his feed sack full of get well powder, and how shocking it was to them to watch him go downhill so fast. Just about nobody will ever fuck with the hard shit. We save hundreds of billions of dollars. Property theft is down 98%. etc etc etc

They've been doing this for a while now. Where do you think our bums come from?

I'm still not sure were the CA bums come from. I'm not from here, and most folks I know aren't from here either. So I don't know where the bums come from either, hah

Other cities. It's common. They council bums when they get in trouble or seek help, they ask the bum if they have family that would help them, bums lie and say Yeah sure they're in California. This is supposed to be verified but gets skirted. They hook them up with a bit of cash and a bus ticket and get them the fuck out of their city.

My names not Terry, but I bet my nieces and nephews would have a story like that if it were legal:smokin:

Why the fuck not, and it would make SS solvent again:lmao:

Steve-O from Jackass Inc. made a comment that he thought it was a joke hard drugs being legal, then mentions he feels bad for the youth * "turning their brains to lint"-

* my quote :flipoff2:

I absolutely believe this, and I can't grasp why everyone doesn't believe it. I mean, the fact that the human race survived for hundreds of years with fully available opium, you would think, would be an indicator to people... But apparently not.

Decriminalization is bullshit. It's a step in the right direction, but only one step. Without free market production, distribution, and regulation (because the children!), it will always be a dirty dangerous business.

This is some sociajizm I can get behind.

Who's read the full text of the law. I'm too lazy so I'm just going to :gary: it here and assume. I'm betting they're only decriminalizing possession but it's still going to be a giant felony to manufacture, distribute, transport, etc. It's not going to make the shit any cheaper, they just aren't going after the users any more. And it's all still going to be illegal at the federal level.

IF you're interested there is some information here you could use to get the full text of the law. Possession is decriminalized. Distribution isn't and I believe the difference is the amount. Something about "possession with the intent to distribute" on some cop shows I watch.

you are correct.

the for argument I saw said that the state averages 35K for every minor possession charge that goes through the court system.

35K of taxpayer dollars to fine someone and release them.

Not Oregon, but assume that's a national avg. $35k of our tax dollars to push a guy through the system that had some plant in his pocket. (Or powder, or juice, or pills, or paste etc)

At some point we've all got to realize this shit is not sustainable. Reform has nothing to do with being "pro-drug".

They would be better served giving the perp $15k worth of their drug of choice as a "sentence". It would cost tax payers less than half as much as is does now, and the problem would solve itself in short order.

Apparently 500% increase in overdose during this period has resulted in return of illegal status.

Fuckers didnt have the nerve to stick through the adjustment period, oh well

They mail Narcan to your house now. I am 100% content with a 500% increase in OD’s as long as my tax dollars aren’t being wasted reviving these people.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I have no issue with drugs being legal..... BUT, there needs to be major and immediate consequences for bad behavior because of or for drugs. And no wasting public money on treatment. And you have to be clean to get welfare, etc.

500% increase seems like a great start to me. Lived in Commierado when the druggies pushed for medical MJ. Just a crack to get the door open. Do your fucking drugs and die in the gutter. Go ahead. If you're stupid enough to do drugs, fucking die.
