Show us your Tow Rig!

I have wondered about the people pulling travel trailers and 5th wheels with MDT and Class 8 tractors. Do the campers stand up to being pulled by something sprung so heavy? Wondered if the harsher ride of the MDT especially non air ride chassis would shake the stick frame campers apart long term.
They typically beat the shit out of the trailers, even with air ride suspension... so most folks that are serious about it do an air ride hitch.

2003 8.1/Allison, 4wd. Ill likely sell it and get one with long bed but hard to find them. Might go for Duramax if I can find it.

Rode 7 hours on my bike to pick it up.

Put it to work towing my trailers and random stuff.

I actually had thought the same thing about the harsh ride but I could find zero information about anyone having any trouble from this. I guess I’ll find out. I’m guessing I’ll run about 1800 Miles this summer

We had to weld up several cracks in the gooseneck of RB's fifth wheel before he could head back west, back in 2015. Utah to NH about killed his.

This was on an air spring MDT - they hammer the crap out of trailers. Which is why people go with an air ride hitch, already posted.

I'd really suggest one.

That's a sharp truck! The duramax power and economy might not be worth the price over that 8.1, and it's easy to work on...

2012 6.7 that is pretty much always hooked to the trailer. 8k miles on it since I bought it in October and 5800 of those were hooked up to the enclosed with either the Tacoma or karts inside. Has worked out to be a really nice upgrade from my old 7.3 in the wind and hills

That's a sweet setup. Do anything to the inside?

I like that color. Diesel to gas, how do you like the change?
The heaviest I tow nowadays it about 6-7K this truck should do just fine. It rides much better than the 12'. Obvious the Diesel will always tow better, but for day to day driving this suits my needs better, based on what I do for a living, this will be better to get to work.

Converted to living quarters in the front half, queen bed in the goose, bathroom/shower, etc. It works great as a do all for both wheeling and racing. I’m having fun watching your enclosed crawler hauler build

That looks awesome man. I'd you have a build thread, or an album with pics, share it with me. If not, start one!

05 Ex. V10. Came from a 16’ 6.7 F350 to this. For the weight I’m pull now I can’t complain. 4.30‘s/4.56’s are next on the list.

Ha I barely even have a build thread on the Tacoma on another forum. I bought it mostly finished and have just been going through fixing/improving little things. New black/grey tanks, some cabinets, awning, electrical, bearings, etc.

Just pick this up 2004 early model 2500 cummins with an auto full service records and 83k miles clean and rust free. I sold my 2020 ram 1500 back to the dealer and made money.

Good call. Only thing I dont like about the 555 auto is the vacuum pump for the cruise control.

Seems ok so far for the cruise no problems with it. Brakes seems kinda hard but rotated tire checked the brakes and they look new. Might have to do alittle more digging. Also passing side window switch is bad but that's quick and easy fix. Truck is 100% stock got it from old guy that kept in in a heated shop.

What kind of mileage do you get with the 6.2 loaded and unloaded?
Unloaded around 14.5. Loaded, around 13. I drive like an old man though and let the trans do the work when it's loaded so engine is rarely over 2500rpm.

2021 3500 Laramie. Blown me away every time I’ve hooked something up to it.

Pretty much always hooked to something. 01 f250 ext. Cab long bed. 7.3 (injectors, s300x turbo, up pipes, duel fuel line feed, fuel pressure springs, 6.0 intercooler etc. Tunes roughly 400-450hp, 1000 ft/lbs) zf-6 with 4 inch lift on Boyd Coddington super singles and 35 inch rubber. Have a set of 4.30s I still need to throw in it. Been a great truck. Pulls most grades even heavily loaded at 55+ hard to ask for more fra 20 year old truck.
